Im getting ready to go to the bank to put some cash in and buy me some tires+rims. I want to make sure I do not screw anything up before I get them.
I want the Cragar Series 397 Black steel rims with 5" backspacing. But, I can only get the 16x8 rims with that BS. Do you all believe it would be ok to get those rims with a 245/70/16 tire? Ive heard it will cause them to cup and so on if the tire is to small for the rim. On tirerack, it calls them the 245/70TR16. What does the TR mean?
Im getting the general tire b/c they are cheap and Ive heard great things about them.

http://www.quadratec.com/products/92601_4XX_PG.htmAlso, what BS are the stock 17in rims? They have the 235/65/17 tires on them. Many people get the 4" BS but I do not want to rub on the fenders when flexing, and I flex ALOT. Thanks guys!
Tire cupping generally results from low tire pressure.
The R stands for radial, and the letters Q,S, and T stand for the speed rating of the tire.
According to their chart the rim size for a 245/70/16 is 6.5" - 8".
Why are you choosing such a small tire for a 2" lift? Stockers are running 245/70/16's!
You could run a 255/70/16 - 30.1", 245/75/16 - 30.7", or perhaps a 265/70/16 - 30.9" with the 16 X 8 and 5" B.S..
