I bought my KJ May 8th this year. I found this forum at the end of May. This has been a great source of knowledge for me...thanks to everyone!!! Anyway since then I've been doing this or that every week to my KJ. This weekend I had nothing to do to the KJ because I am getting the house ready for my Dad to spend next week with us. My wife left this morning to get some groceries and guess what? As she was leaving I noticed that one of the stop lights are out----My exact thought at that moment, "YYYIIIPPPEEEE I GET TO TINKER WITH THE KJ!!". Is this obsession normal? My wife now has a permanent sigh now when I approach her with, "Honey, I think....."

Perfectly normal behaviour. It's a Jeep thing, we understand.

They have these clinics were you can get help for that.

Unfortunately, they are located deep within secluded forests and mountains, past rugged terrain and water; and no one knows their exact locations.

I hear there is a 5 star clinic somewhere in Moab.

I do not believe a week goes by when I do no take the wheels off the jeep. Yesterday for ex. I took them off to adjust the e-brake. 2 days before that I took them off to change the lower ball joints.

Fun isnt it!

Wonder why the brake light is already out? Someone use the brakes alittle to much?

It's a year and half old with 23000 miles...I replaced the 3rd brake light already too...That I think I did because I pulled it off and put on a vinyl carbon fiber "liberty" cover...may have bumped it just right or something.

Since it is under warranty, and I presume you are being that it is an 05, and you've had to change the bulb 3 times i reckon from what you said...you might want to have you local stealership check the wiring to your light and make sure that it is correct and that there isn't a short in the wiring or something causing these bulbs to go out...it's not normal. And being that it is part of a safety system (brake light to let other know your stopping) it should be covered by warranty I would think. But then again I've heard that dealers or car makers are required by some state or federal law to correct any malfunction that develops with any sort of safety feature (i.e. seatbelt for instance) free of charge. But i'm not totally sure on that or where I heard that. Might be best to check with local car laws...lemon laws and see if it says anything about that sort of thing. Sorry for the ramble but my .02

I think it's a good reason to jack it up and take the wheels off! You need to check the pads to make sure the previous owner didn't ride the break... You will have a "problem" if you end up taking digital pictures of the undercarage and other components every week to track changes to your jeep (monthly is ok behavior though) :D
