I'm researching replacement tires. I understand the difference in construction between D and E rated tires. I'm looking at the Dueler Revos in the stock size. Most of my driving will be highway, with an occasional off road jaunt and some snow in the winter. I'll be towing approx 2,000 lbs some of the time. Can anyone tell me the difference in ride/performance between the D and E? Any recommendations? There's only a $3. difference between the two.

Instead of the stock size I'd go with the 245/70X16. Same diameter, nicer looking on the rig with no rubbing.

The "P" tires are cheaper and carry the mileage guarantee, your rig will tow just fine with them.

Both will be stiffer than stock but it is hard to tell the diff between D and E by the seat of the pants. I think many members here are having great luck with the newer Goodyear Silent Armor tires...just another research project for ya'

No rubbing even in a tight turn? I LOVE the turn radius and would hate to lose even a little of it. I do like the look of a meatier tire, but won't the 70 lower the car? Is there a difference in handling? I have a friend with 245/75/16 on his and it seems to wander on the highway.

A 245/70/16 is actually a little taller than the stock 225/75/16 by about .5"
