I posted asking about my 07's trans and how it shifts/acts. Here is a rundown of a few of the symptoms I had:
Torque converter locking and unlocking repeatedly (My torque converter would lock, the rpms would go too low, the vehicle would labor momentarily, and then the converter would unlock and repeat the cycle)
Torque converter reluctant to unlock, resulting in a laboring engine
Transmission intermittently shifting hard at low speed
Transmission slipping from 1 to 2 after sitting overnight
Jeepjeepster recommended using OD OFF to combat the issues, but I knew there was more to the story, as an 06 and an identical 07 I drove didn't behave the way mine did.
Since I just hit 3k miles, I took it in for its first oil change and had my local dealer scope it.
The dealer performed a few different things, and now my Jeep shifts MUCH better. Here is what they did:
Performed "Quick Learn" Procedure, pertains to line pressure data
Reset cluch volume index data in both open and closed loop
Flashed computer for a TSB/Recall about shifting issues on 07s
I also had the ABS Module Reprogram Recall performed.
All in all, my Jeep seems more responsive (electronic throttle control) and shifts much more like the 06 I've driven on several occasions.
Just figured those with similar issues might have something to go by.
