The mopar skid part # troyster gives is 52128925-AC for around $28 at dealer.

The dealer trans skid from their accessory catalog is part # 82210003 for $49 for the 05-06 models. If you go in there without a part# this is the one they push on you.

What are yall using?????

Called the dealer with troys part # and its listed as a shield, 18lbs weight
I ordered it!!! $28

The other part# 82210003 is listed as a trans skid plate also weighing 18lbs

Is there a difference yall know of? Otherwise save the $$$

Let us know how the order turns out(ie: if you actually get what you thought you were ordering).

I trust it will be, the other folks are using the cheaper part # listed

I looked in the acc catalog at the dealer and downloaded the PDF version and they look the same except the nomenclature and part#

They both weigh 18lbs

Should be in by Thursday, so I'll be installing it and my rockrails From AdamisAdam.

Yeah, it just came out as an accessorie..we've all been ordering it as a replacement part and ordering the mounting hardware seperately.. it's now been repackaged for the retail market and includes the hardware and packaging (I'd guess) so you get the higher price.

As stated above, the more expensive one includes the bolts to install it.

If you've got a front skidplate (under the front suspension), all you need is: an electric drill, a 1/2 drill bit, and two 1/2" by 1.5" bolts (and 2 nuts, washers, lock washers) and you're set.

The extra hardware is 3 bolts,3 nutzerts,1 nutzert tool, but it is easier to just drill thru the rear cross member and use a longer bolt.

The stealership tried pulling this on me. I gave him Troy's part number and it wasnt in stock. Then I asked about a Tranny Skid and they had that in stock for $50. I asked him to just order the part I asked for first and the guys reply was "Err...this is a shield for $28, are you sure?"

Hmm....$22.00 for some hardware?? Yeah, I'm sure. This forum and a Haynes manual is the best defense against crooked dealers.

I'm glad you pushed it. This site helps a bunch. I still need the book. I wish I had it on CD.
