Wow, that looks like 20 jeeps!!! With all the SO and passengers this is going to be one big party. Dean, if you're still coming, are you bringing the grill? Chris is bringing his but with all these people a second one would really help.

Everybody check out the Food for thought thread and let us know what each person is going to be bringing for lunch. It looks like a pot luck picnic for lunch. With this many people, we'll probably need 2 people to bring the same thing, ie 2 people bring condiments, plates etc.

I think with so many coming down the night before also, we should plan to meet at the Sheetz in Harrisonburg around 8 so we can get an early start. And for those coming the night before but not camping, be warned that finding s hotel with a vacancy in the area at the last minute is very difficult. So plan ahead accordingly.

"Holy mother of Jeeps Batman" That is a ton of Jeeps, and there are going to be more. Some people are bringing guest in other rigs. I may be one of these people. Dave thanks for posting the food pole section, WHERE ONLY 4 PEOPLE HAVE RESPONDED "HINT""HINT" This is going to be a great ride I can feel it in the air.

Yeah, I'll bring "The Grill".
Never camp over night without it.

Hey Guys and Gals,

Help, where to stay, there are several hotels off 81 and 33 in Harrisonburg. Will this be ok? The Sheetz is right there, are we going to meet there Saturday morning. Right now the best rate I can find is $56/nite at the Motel 6.

Let me know. There is also some hotels in Sauton (sp). which would be better?

The Motel 6 sounds like a good deal. Make sure you get your reservation in soon. Staunton is the next exit south on I-81, about three miles.

Does anybody have an objection to meeting at 8 at the Sheetz? George said he would just meet us at the trail head. So anybody camping at Brandywine, just follow him down. You can all meet at the trail head at about 8:30. That will give the Sheetz group time to get there. Just post here which group you will be meeting with so the Sheetz group won't have to wait too long for anybody before they head out.

Mike, I haven't decided yet if I'm coming down the night before and camping or early that morning. If both of us camp out, one of us will have to leave early to meet the group at the Sheetz and bring them up to the trail.

If we do 8 am (which is a good thing because these trails take longer than you would think) than it`d be a good idea to camp/hotel it the night before unless you live nearby.

For those that aren`t camping/hoteling it and are meeting at the Sheetz in the morning, I can meet up with them. Then I can bring the group to the Lake and meet there with the rest of you at 8:45-9:00am. Give folks a little leeway in case they run a few mins. late.

I'll be in the Holiday Inn Express on South Main St., Friday and Sat. Is it the South Main St., University, or the Market St. Sheetz we're meeting at? Joe

It's the Sheetz on Market St. Route 33 is called Market St in the city of Harrisonburg.

OK, 8:30 it is,,, I'll see you at the lake at 8:30.

I have invited a friend in a Xtera, who may camp if they show up.

Food,,, I think I will bring my lunch,, no cooking,,

Jeepgirl,, we'll miss ya  ,, and Ryker too :D and when are you going to put that really good mud pic of you on for an avatar??

As for camping or hoteling: It has been my experience that this time of year things fill up due to people getting out to see the fall colors. If the regular campground is full, there is a group camp area that we could use.

Get muddy

Still a little banged looking on the rear taillight, he is waiting on a part to come in. He has done fabbed himself up a bumper and is working on a swing out tire carrier now. Little welding fool.

Ok boys and girls,

I just booked Motel 6 for $50 a nite.....hey do you here birds......cheap, cheap.......cheap, cheap!

So, I will be there late around 10 or 11 Friday night, so I plan to slip right into bed, so I can be at my best Saturday morning! Its pretty scary if I am not!

Everybody bringing tools? (just in case, but we all know KJ's don't break down on the trail, I carry mine to help the other Jeepers). Don't forget a roll of T.P. for those nature calls!

WOW, look at that list of KJ's this is going to interesting. I wonder if the park has ever had a traffic jam.

Who has a video camera, this should be taped. Maybe we can get a spot on off road TV. I will see if mine still holds a charge.

As you tell I was up late last night (Mayor stuff, only three more meetings to go!), so I am kinda silly tonight! :P I am looking forward to meeting with all of you, and to try out my new rear lift. This is where I see if my welding is any good!

Al

I will be bringing our D8 camera. My fiance, Lynn, which you met at Jeepfest has a comm degree, and loves to do video production and editing. I'm hoping we get enough footage to make a video of the weekend trip. I'm sure we will, we will also have our digital still camera to take lots of pictures. As long as everyone is cool with it, i'll talk to her about doing up a video for this trip, and when it's done, we can figure out a way to get copies to everyone. She will probably want to vehicle hop and such to try to get a lot of footage...it's going to be crazy with 20 KJ's + others. I will also be bringing a video of the Labor Day weekend adventure we had.

Edit: i talked to her, and she is all about doing the video. Even editing it for SpikeTV (the Powerblock) or any other shows.
