I was changing the water seperating filter this afternoon. I primed the fuel system before connecting the two instrument fittings.

After about 10 to 15 pumps, I started getting air/fuel spitting out of the point where the fuel heater wire connects to the puck.

I cleaned everything up and got the air bled out. Seems to be running fine. I think I read someone else had seen the same thig as well.

I will call the dealership on Monday and see what they think.

Dealer replaced my filter assembley several weeks ago and it runs much better. Don't drive the jeep much anymore since I go my project 96 Passat running. 48 mpg vs 28 mpg. 75 miles round trip.

You may want to report to the NTSB as this would cause stalling and potentially an accident. If this keeps happening then they will be forced to do a recall. I wonder if your past 3/36 if they warranty this?

I was more concerned about the potential for a fire from fuel in an electrical connection - seems like a bad combination.

There are probably more of you out there who have this issue and do not know about it. I would not have seen it if I hadn't had the plugs disconnected while purging air after a fuel filter change.

The vehicle seems to be running just fine and I have had no issues with stalling etc.

Hi! I put a dab of silicone grease in my fuel heater connector.
It will prevent air from being sucked in and may also transfer heat away from the pins.
I have never had air leak problems but hope to prevent them!
