Thanks kjhawaii for the idea, I pretty much copied his b/c it looks so great
Im not quite done yet Im still have to add a cross bar in the front and the rear and then finish all the painting they will not be brown thats just the prime I bought some black hammered finish paint, Im hoping to have it all done sometime next week, my welds arent pretty but they are strong which is what I want, the overall deminsions are 6' long and about 4' wide and I used 1x1x1/8 except the cross rails but its plenty strong I can stand on it in the middle and it barely bows at all and I weigh 170#, heres what I have so far: (sorry for the big pics)

That looks awesome, I've wanted to do the same thing for forever. How much did the steel cost? How easy was it? Just fab the roof mounts, line up the square tube lengths and weld the mounts to it, right?

i dont know for sure i'd say about $10 or so in steel maybe $20 at most, but its alot cheaper than a roof basket this size and this is stronger

ya its a crack...dumb semi! :x

okay Im finished for now, later I want to get a floor put down I was thinking something like mesh Im not positive what its called but similar to what people put in for grilles but thicker, anyways heres the finished pics
