What: AZ LOST Turkey Run
Where: Bisbee/ Douglas border area
When: November 24,2007 at 8:30 AM, rolling out at 9 AM
Why: why not? :)
Comms: CB Channel 4, FMRS 4.1?
Who: Signcutter21- IN
OlHockeyVB- IN
O8K- IN
Seth-possible
Neutus-possible

Details: This trip will start off in Bisbee, head down Border Road and tour through old turn of the century mining trails, this should be around 3 hours or so. From there, we will get on Hwy 80 and travel 15 minutes south to Douglas. In Douglas, the trip will take us east on the International Boundary Road. We will then jaunt north and circle back around towards Douglas on the Rocker M Ranch. This section should last another 3 hours. All this depending on length of stops. We will return to Douglason Geronimo Trail Road. There will also be an optional, pretty difficult, trip up to the top of "D" Hill. Great views of Douglas and it's sister city Aqua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico.

The majority of this trip will littered with granite rock climbs with the occasional wash out. Skid protection is recommended. Stock vehicles will be able to make it through with a bit of fineness and choice of lines. (done most of it stock Chevy Tahoes and Ford Expeditions on street tires). There is one 30 min. section that is a bit narrow. I went through and took out the majority of the heavy stuff. We can decide if we want to by pass it or not.

Other Details: We will be staging at the Bisbee Breakfeast Club parking lot. Some of us will be grabbing breakfast there at around 7:30. This place is always packed, so hopefully and hour will be enough time for us to get in and eat. Plan accordingly. There is a gas station right at the Bisbee traffic circle...DON'T GET GAS THERE!!! It's over priced by up to a quarter a gallon at times. We will pass a gas station on the way out. We can get last minute snacks and fuel there.

lunch: we have a couple choices, we can do it on the trail somewhere, or stop in Douglas at the El Chef, the best Sonoran style mexican restaurant.

When we get back to Douglas, we can stop at my house and I'll have the big air compressor hooked up for anybody that wants to fill up before heading back north.

Think that about covers it all. See ya there

Absolute is booked solid into December. They were my first choice for fixing my Jeep after the rollover. Joe recommended and sent me to Hunter Offroad. They don't do gears though.. :?

I may actually be rollin' by then. I talked to John at Hunter Offroad yesterday on the phone and he said the insurance folks were cool with me rollin on a not-completely-fixed rig. Soon as the rear wheel and rollbar are in I'll be outta the wife's Corolla!! Then as the doors and top come in I'll get those fixed.

Bad news... we won't be able to make this run.

Beth just found out a couple of hours ago she will be having surgery Thanksgiving week. We don't know the exact date yet. The doctor's office has to get authorization from the insurance company and set a date with the hospital.

You guys have fun.... :(

If anybody needs a place to stay, have plenty of floor space/ couches, grass and room for campers. Friday and/ or Saturday night is ok. Let me know via pm.

What's wrong with your front diff? I have a spare I'd be willing to loan until a replacement can be found.

My rear end has 4:10s and my front still has the stock gear ratio. Finally got the 4:10s for the front off backorder but don't have em in yet so I can't engage 4WD...... :(
