A friend and I did the outter loop in the Carrol Canyon OHV area on saturday. I'm pretty sure this is the same area as the Los Pinos lookout. The "trail" to the lookout is a paved road. You take the paved road to access the outter loop trail.

Anyway the trail was great. Since we've been getting rain lately, there was a good deal of mud for So-Cal!!! We had some small stream crossing. We were not able to complete the loop as it was gated off, but it was still a good length run since you need to double back. The trail was fun and the KJ made it through no trouble. I'll post pictures in the trip report area once I get them all organized.

This was part of the outer loop trail and it was a very nice run.

I don't mean to high jack this thread, but it's another option for a few other trails.

Late,

This trail is fun, a little easy but fun. i know a trail about 20 mins from there its a decent climb with alot of off camber ruts. but i would be content with going back to corral canyon.

That is Carveacre Road just outside of Alpine. The big piece of granite is Pancake Rock. I've been out there a few times. It's a short run, but it's fun.

FWIW, early March would be best for me. Hope to have some stuff dialed in on the SFA by then and need a shake down run. No can do this weekend, got the Calico thing going on.

We install the bars in driveway early in the morning, and then wheel. That way you can grind down some of the rocks that I may get hung up on...

PM sent, I may be in too. Gas on these trips is killing my Mod money :(

Okay so throwing this out here and I'll see how many people can make it.

How about Los Pinos Lookout/Corral Canyon on Sunday, Februray 24th? I come from the 67 to I-8 East, so how about meeting on Exit 45 (Pine Valley Road).

So who can make that?

Ryan

Yeah John, let's put them on at MCRD and roll out to CC for a run through Sidewinder, backwards. Besides, even the outer loop will be all muddy again after today's down pour.

Just a thought.
