Usually new plugs, when purchased for the 3.7, are gapped already.

If not, they need to be set to 0.040".

It's always a good idea to check your gap. Don't forget to put anti-seize on the treads.

Do not use a metal gapper with platinum plugs or iriduim plugs, you will damage them. They make special plastic coated gappers for those plugs. Not all plugs come pre-gapped,that goes for the ones for the 3.7 plugs also, and the ones that due can be out of specs from how they where handled, always check the plug gap before installing.

The plug gap is stated on the emmision sticker located on the upper radiator support under the hood of your KJ.

I ended up changing out the plugs yesterday, I did not check the gap of the old ones. The Libby runs a LOT better know.
28000 miles and I put Densco's in.

Your emission sticker under the hood will tell you the proper gap as well. When I replaced my originals, I checked the gap on those NGK's with a telephone book, WOW, I needed half the book!

Yes I was not real impressed with the stock NKG's. The gap looked alot bigger than it should've. I did look at the sticker under the hood, and the weather stripping wore the letters and numbers off!!
