I dont know if they changed the lubricant, but normal MMO was tested and compares like this:

17)Marvel Mystery Oil
Gas, oil and Diesel fuel additive (NOT ULSD compliant, may damage 2007 and newer systems)
HFRR 678, 42 microns worse than baseline fuel.
320:1 ratio
10.4 oz/tank
$3.22/tank

10)Power Service Diesel Kleen + Cetane Boost

Multi-purpose
Cetane improver, bio-diesel compatible, alcohol free
HFRR 575, 61 micron improvement
400:1 ratio
8.32 oz/tank
$1.58/tank

as compared to the real winners:

1) 2% REG SoyPower biodiesel

HFRR 221, 415 micron improvement.
50:1 ratio of baseline fuel to 100% biodiesel
66.56 oz. of 100% biodiesel per 26 gallons of diesel fuel
Price: market value

2)Opti-Lube XPD
Multi-purpose + anti-gel
cetane improver, demulsifier
HFRR 317, 319 micron improvement.
256:1 ratio
13 oz/tank
$4.35/tank

7)Super Tech Outboard 2-cycle TC-W3 engine oil

Unconventional (Not ULSD compliant, may damage 2007 or newer systems)
HFRR 474, 162 micron improvement
200:1 ratio
16.64 oz/tank
$1.09/tank

Man I wouldn't touch that with a 10-foot pole. I'm using a mix of Power Service and TC-W3 right now, and have a gallon of Opti-Lube XPD for when I finish the TC-W3.

I have to point this out: if normal Marvel Mystery Oil is good for both gas and diesel, (which it's not, at least for diesel) why do they need to make a seperate diesel treatment?

I have read several reports by third done by party labs who state adding MM oil to diesel fuel actually reduces the lubricity of the diesel. One I saw had a lubricity rating for about 20 additives , MM oil was one listed that drastically reduced the lubricity of diesel. Use Stanadyne performance for diesel or something made for ultra low sulfur diesel, someone also said they use straight 90wt, but playing chemist with a several thousand dollar engine just does not seem like a good idea, if the 90wt or gear lube has the etching additive used in limited slip differentials it might destroy your high pressure fuel pump and or injectors. Nope I did not save the links nor did I copy them down.

Have fun

That's a first. And you are right, using 90wt is a stupid idea.

The Marvel Mystery Python is a fearless bugger with a fierce reputation as a Man-Eater.
Growing to 18 foot in length, the MMP is one of the largest snakes in the world.
How they get the oil out of em is anyones guess.
Guess that's the Mystery.
