Well, I decided to take the plunge and order today (locally) a Magnaflow #15870 exhaust system for the CRD. I've read on numerous boards that the 2.4L, 3.7L, and 2.8L engines all share the same exhaust system from the muffler back......my new system is on the shop floor and will be installed Thursday (the first available time I can get the CRD from the wife). I purchased it from Jobber's Exhaust in Lexington, KY. and got a great deal on it.....even an option to return it providing it doesn't pass the "loose fit" test. I'll try to remember to bring the ol' digital camera and snap a few pics of the installation.

Bolts in just behind convertor.

3.5" slash/rolled polished stainless steel tip.

Everything went great except that I had to slightly tweak the rear most hanger near the bumper cover......I'm not sure if it wasn't welded on straight or if it was bent during shipping.

No major problems; just a minor problem with the rear hanger.....a little tweaking was required....no big deal.

I have no idea which muffler comes with the Magnaflow #15870 Exhaust System; I didn't notice any part number on the muffler itself during the installation.

Sounds a little deeper than stock, but there's a big difference in exhaust flow coming from the tip.

I've had the exhaust systems for about 3 years now and they still fit/look like new. Just thought I would throw that out there as another option. If you want pics I can take some tomorrow and post them.

My heavens, that CRD is clean and rust free! darn, I'm jealous.
Thanks for the pictures. I still have my #15870 exhaust system setting in it's box. I may let my old stock exhaust endure another winter of salt before I get rid of it. :|

Had the same one for three years and just discovered the side seam of the muffler is leaking badly. Could you folks check yours' at idle and report? I have an RMA, but nothing to use for an exhaust for a month or more.
