OK, Krazz1e and I are helping Gordo install his Rusty's spacer (OTT) lift, and we're having no luck getting the strut assembly reattached to the lower control arm. We've got the arm dropped as far as it can go, but the problem is that we can't seem to push the bottom of the strut assembly inward (toward the center of the vehicle) far enough to hit the perch.

Any ideas? We checked out the strut compressors at AutoZone, but neither of them looks like it can be used while the strut assembly is attached at the top.

The whole problem, as many of you already know, is that OTT lifts increase the overall length of the strut assembly, so it's almost impossible to reassemble without compressing it back to stock length.

So, any suggestions??? We're trying to get this done before dark!!!

TIA

Here's how I got my Frankenlift installed, with out any help:

Get 2 ratchet tie-down straps. How them around the lower part of the clevis you are trying to get back in place, and then hook the other end to the lower on the other side of the vehicle. Ratchet away, and you should get it darn close to where it needs to be. From there, get a huge pry bar, and pop it in place. Repeat for the other side.

Also, make sure the bolts at the top of the strut assembly bolting it to the shock tower are not tight. I am talking about the 4 bolts under tha battery and the airbox. Good luck!!
