Go to this link if you want to see real ISO test results and not add hype for various brands including the ProGuard. ISO airfilter test for GM Duramax Diesel

Problem is it doesn't look like they tested the ProGuard7

The catch is, the best performing filters do not seem to be available for the Libby

The catch is the test is showing (read the article) that the best you can buy is OEM, for Durmax OEM is AC Delco, for our CRD it is MOPAR. In other words OEM is always best for normal operations, and the off roading that most of us would or will ever do.

Point well taken, which is what I've been doing.....buying OEM.

The ProGuard 7 filters are a great filters with one issue for the liberty. OIL is sprayed on the filter to trap dirt and that oil will effect your EGR or EGR issues. Because there is oil consumptions issues with the CRD and good air filter is a must. A poor filter will clog resulting in a draw from the CCV sucking oil mist at a rapid pace vs. a better flow filter.

I buy some OEM items but air filters are not one of them!

Also if CRD's are like TDI's the oil will mess up your MAF (mass air flow sensor) :(

Wait, so the Jeep sprays oil onto the filter? Onto a paper filter? WTF? I replaced my original air filter at my last oil change (12.5K miles) with whatever Fram was available from Kragen. Looked like the OEM one to me and I was going on a long trip, my original filter was dirty, and dealer service was closed.

So are all paper filters in jeopardy from this oil spray?

No, many of the aftermarket high flow filters have an oily coating to help with filtration.
