No not that....but that would be cool too

Since our new KJ is black, I am concerned about rock chips. I was wondering if anyone has used one of the clearbra products? Local places will do it for $300+. But Ebat has DIY kits for $20....I general believe I get what I pay for, but, $200 is tempting....
Anyone have any experience or infor about either type?

my friend has one of those clear bra's on his wrx sti, it looks really clean, like you cant even really see that its on there, until you get up close. works really good, too, as far as he tells it.

cant comment on the price as it was on there when he bought the car.

Are you looking at a clear vynal adhesive film over the front 6 or 8 inches of the hood? This product is widely used on the nose caps and even the bottom of windshields of tour buses (which take a pounding). It usually lasts several 100K miles and works well. On a flat surface, a DIY job is not difficult. You would be best to look for a professional installer for a KJ due to the curves in the hood.

Yep, that's the stuff.... Being black, I just want to avoid the rockchip problem....

See the instructions here on LOST about putting down vinyl. Actually, you may want to consider black vinyl rather than clear, just a thought...

I have the 3M Clear Bra on mine. Had it done at the same time as the tint for the front windows. That was almost 2 years and 25K+ miles ago still just about perfect. No peeling or blemishes that i've seen. Just don't hold the sprayer at the car wash less than 10-12 inches from it. I don't think I have any close-ups pics though.
