My KJ drank a little brown water Sunday (see pictures below). Luckily, only a few droplets reached my air filter, so I'm not concerned about water in the engine. However, I would like to clear the tubes of dried mud, as all that dust will be sucked into the new air filter and clog it prematurely.

How do we remove the air box on the driver's side (3.7L)? I remember my cousin doing it when we installed the lift, but I was doing something else. After unclamping the hose, the air box should pull right out with a strong tug, right?

Thanks for the info.

Mine wasn't nearly as wet as yours for some reason, and my daughter was getting antsy and on my nerves. At that point, I really needed to hit the highway and get her home.

I put in a new air filter this morning, which is when I noticed some dust down in the air box. I'll take dust over water/mud any day. That was fun though!

If you open the air box and just hose it down you should be able to get rid of all the "mud" in their. The air box has some holes in the bottom for drainage. But pulling on it will remove it, it's not held down any screws.

You may want to consider not going into water/mud so fast next time. Then you won't get it into the box. Just not as fun though
