I'm only putting this in the general forum because I'm not sure what I want to do yet but wanted to get some feedback

I really want a lift and new wheels (soft 8's), but don't know what to do first. I know as soon as I get the lift I'll want to go bang around but don't want to mess up the wheels if I do.

So I'm thinking of getting new wheels first. How much of an interest is there in a full set (5 near perfect) of the 16" limited alloy wheels. I was thinking of putting them up for $200+ shipping. would I have more luck on ebay?

any ideas? takers?

Like I said this isn't 100% yet I'm not sure what route I'll go.

Keep the factory rims with some good daily driving tires on them, get the steelies and mount some offraod tires for when you want to go play. That way with 2 sets of rims/tires you get the best of both worlds, great offroad traction and no need to worry about breaking a alloy rim, then throw the stocks on for better around town ride and mpg's without wearing out your $$$$ offroad tires.

I'd thought of that but honestly I like the look of the cragars much better so they probably would never come off anyway. And for now I won't be buying very expensive tires anyway so i'm not to worried about wearing them out.

I sold my limited wheels for around $200 but they did come with some 245 goodyear MTR's with some life still on them.

Don't forget your Tire Pressure Monitor sensor packs.

really you might want to consider this
I use my AT's for around town and MT/R's for wheelin, the MT/R's are loud, eat up gas, roughen the ride and annoy my wife when she wants to drive the jeep (wait that last one wasnt necessarily a bad thing) anyways I would get some cheap AT's, I got a full set at DT for 600 mounted and balanced, then use any extra for some nice offroad wheels.

yea, youre going to get a light on your dash saying you need pressure sensors everything you start your Jeep.. Its really fun if I may say so.

Ive heard of people taking the sensors and putting them in a pipe and then putting pressure on the pipe. Just keep the pipe in the Jeep so the jeep can get a reading.

If I remember right, TPMS will not work on steel wheels.

It measures pressure why would it matter what they are mounted to? (or in, as jeepster suggested a pipe)

The sensors for the 05+ libertys may work in steel wheels. The problem with the sensors I have in my 04 liberty, you must train each sensor with a magnet. This allows the jeep to know which tire is which so it can give you the reading for that tire on the evic. If you have a steel wheel, the magnet will not work thus not allowing you to train each sensors. Someday if I get bored, I MAY cut one of the valve stems out of my cragars and see if it will work. But then I would need to get a valve stem put back in that rim.. I looked into buying extra sensors for the cragars and they cost to much. More so if I didnt know they would work.. :(
