I have gained more respect for people who lower there car for performance. There were several sports cars here in the auto racing club that were lowered (for performance) that beat my then stock KJ on an RTI ramp (and beat the pants off of the campus police expedition).

Me personally, if I were going fast and speed, I would go subaru over jeep, but then, many people would say if they wanted a IFS offroad, they would go with toyota, so each his own.

Well, the way i see it...i'll make the Jeep do what it was designed to do....better...by lifting it and such...and when i want to go fast and be low, i'll buy a sports car and make THAT do what it was designed to do...better...by lowering it and modifying it etc.

But like i said in my last post, although i'm not a big fan of that style of modification, his Jeep DID come out pretty nice...it's WAY better than all the H2's you see slammed w/ 26s. It just doesn't make an sense to me....but since you can't take the H2 off-road anyway, might as well lower it

I love what he did with his A/V setup though, the headrest screens are nice and the HU is pretty sweet...and on another vehicle, i think a smaller version of those wheels would look pretty nice....

Yeah sorry Tight spot...I am from England...but live in Canada... I have been trying to type stuff in the American way on here so I don't get burned!! But I missed that one! No worries though....I'm sure though you agree with Sig statement being a service man.

I sure do zeero, and so do my buddies :D I was not aware that it was spelled differently elsewhere in the world. Thanks for the education...now I am less of a dumb Yank huh  :D

1. The Compass is not a Jeep. DC is trying to market twards the "car" market again. I have a feeling that the Compass will fail miserabally like the Jeep Jeepster and Aero did back in the 50's.

2. Lowered Jeeps are illegal.

doing things to cars that the next persone never thoguht of doing is called creativity. his dropped kj was sweet and very well done. also it was a 4x2...

Some of the coolest stuff I have seen were done the total opposite way that those vehicles were intended to go... and that is what made them sweet. I have seen big block V8 Honda CRX's, body dropped and bagged king cab long box dualies than lay frame on 24" rims,, and that stuff is very nice i think

How about the SRT8 that just came out... it is lowered an inch. to bad it is full time 4wd tho.

I'm not a big fan of performance SUV's but that SRT8 Grand is pretty sweet. It would make a great tow vehicle I bet.

I'm the odd one in the group. I thought when we first bought our Liberty (granted only Dec '05) that I would take it offroad etc here and there. I have realized, that our Liberty is an UWV (Urban Warrior Vehicle) and will probably never really go off-road. With that said, I thought about buying some Startech lowering springs and Mono IVs (I believe those are the rims). I personally don't like how 'high' the Liberty is right now, only because it 'wallows' and I am accustomed to my Lightning and CSVT (I know, I know).

With that said, I still like the 'lifted' and KJs that are used for what they are. I love the pictures, but reality, mine isn't going to see the off-raod.

Awesome man, its an excellent career...although my experience is Canadian, it very similar to US enforcement (If not identical)...I do work in the one of biggest and busiest areas of Canada, the Greater Toronto Area (GTA)...how long until your service is upand whats your job there? Our jobs our pretty much EXACTLY the same as down there...in fact we do alot of inter agency training with US departments...like wise when I was in the military. If there is anything you want to know or are curious about just ask or PM me anytime.

That sounds alittle odd. You do not want flex from a lowered "performance" car. The kj has alot of flex stock and i do not see how a car of any kind could beat it?

It does have alittle more flex left, none of the tires were off of the ground.

You're right, a race car won't flex. But all the cars at those shows aren't race cars...and they don't actually need the ramp...

Before anyone starts busting on hydraulics or air suspensions, go watch Tuff Truck in Australia and look at the truck that keeps winning and see what it can do. Then tell us that independently adjustable suspension is stupid.

There is a lot of tech from each area of interest that can be used in our trucks, whether we want to lift them to the moon and crawl over Saturn, or drop them to the ground and scrape dimes off the road with our diffs. Ideas are developed by creative people who love modding vehicles. When we share that info in this open, friendly environment, we give ourselves access to those amazingly creative ideas. And sharing information with others is why we just opened up the site to non KJers, and it's why we're all here.

Just because someone wants to do something different with their Jeep doesn't mean they deserve ridicule. Wouldn't bash someone that sets up their KJ to conquer loose sandy dunes when I want mine to conquer tight rocky trails, just because they have a different setup. Why would anyone bash a fellow Jeeper just because he wants to conquer a quarter mile of pavement instead of rocks, mud or sand. Or maybe he just wants conquer car shows (shrug). I'm proud to have a Liberty conquering every facet of the automotive world. Pretty cool. And thanks for the link Ben. You might have saved someone the pain and ridicule of having to ask openly on the forum "Does anyone know where I might get some lowering springs for my truck?"
