Mine went out a few years back. Apparently the starter didn't like mud.
I have an 03 with the 3.7L, so if you also have this engine, the starter is on the driver's side just above the front drive shaft. In order to get to it, you need to remove the driveshaft from the front axle and perform some neat contortionist moves to get at the starter. There was also a heat shield in the way. Just loosen that and move it out of the way the best you can. Trying to remove and reinstall the starter was also a real treat.

But it can be done. Just make sure your connections are real good after you reinstall. One of mine came off and I had to get "professionals" to fix it.
