I called my local dealer in town today to get a price on a transmission flush and refill. They said $150 - 160. Then i asked if they actually pull the pan and replace the filters and they said no, they just do a flush and the flush is suppose to use a cleaning agent to clean the filters. So... first question, is that too much? Second question will the flush with the cleaning agent actaully clean the fliters? I am sort of skeptical about that...?

The reason i am asking is that i am experiencing some weird transmission kwirks and also its getting close to 60,000.

Anyone? thanks

Bull on the filters. Ask them how much to change the fuid & filters. Have you considered doing the work yourself? It can be a messy job but not all that tough to do.

WOW thats expensive. They quoted me at $200 for tranny work and rear end oil change. But I went to my local JIFFY EXPRESS LUBE....they flushed the tranny (they said that's the wayeveryone does it now...) replaced the tranny fluid...AND changed my rear end oil for $116.......

Yeah i considered it but just thought that i would get this piece done at the dealer just to not mess w/ it. I have already done the rear and front differential fluid change. I am thinking about doing the Transfer case soon here.
I did ask about how much it would cost to do the flush and pull the pan and they said about an hour more of labor plus the filters.

Did jiffy lube use ATF+4? I would go that route if they have it but not sure. I am thinking about contacting a local mom and pop shop and just see how much they would charge if I brought them both filters and enough ATF+4 to do the job and see what they would charge. Any thoughts?

MY Dealer just did mine BUT will NOT do the flush anymore due to too many issues it WILL NOT clean the filter it SHOULD be replaced thier sticking with the way a tranny service should be plus how does the flush pick out the little metal shavings on the magnet on the bottom of the pan it won't ( not sure if we have them ? ) anyways you get my point I never liked the idea of a flush service anyway but that's my .02

I would have it done the old fashion way should be cheaper I would think
