Okay, here is a side shot. I forgot all about taking a pic until I started getting her ready for Christmas! The tabs for the shackles are 1/2" thick. I can get a better side view and front view tomorrow if anyone wants it.

The shackle mounts are made out of a steel called T-1 it is twice as strong as the A-37 (mild steel) that is used in most all other bumpers.

I use this because to me it is more asthetically pleasing than a huge chunk of steel hanging off the front. And I like the 110,000 lb. per square inch rating of T-1.

Mild steel is between 60,000 and 70,ooo lbs. per. square inch.

Just to clear things up a bit

I'd still prefer the thicker tabs. More aesthetically pleasing to me. Plus less clanking around while driving. my 2 cents.

That is hands down the most aesthetically pleasing front bumper. I would be interested in that bumper if there wasn't problems with that company. Hopefully that guy can get back on his feet & produce more of those bumpers... Looks real good on your jeep Fulltimer.

So my bumper was supposed to be here by christmas.... Well that was what I was told last month.... I Just got an email saying "It will probably not be done by then." :evil:

It will be an entire year in 2 months... and I bet I still don't get it by then...
So if you don't mind waiting a year for your order to get to you.. :roll:

This is a non commercial....commercial! :lol:

All jokes aside, I can say that this bumper is great! The quality of the cuts, welds and fitment is top shelf. People have asked me how the metal was bent in all those angles. These are off road people asking these kinds of questions. I was going to count how many separate plates go into this thing and post that, but I didn't do the counting. Each piece fit perfectly. On the outside of the bumper the only welds you can see are where on the tabs. All the rest are ground down as smooth as glass.

All that said.........I can't wait to see what it will take on the trails! :twisted:

I have tabs very simluar on my TJ bumper...........................they have been yanked on and have held up great. I don't worry about the strength as long as they are properly mounted in the bumper and not just tabs welded on to the face steel. How are these mounted? How are you coming along on your orders? Curious as I am interested in one of these bumpers.
