Out of curiosity, how can you tell the difference between 203* and 240* just by being near by (especially when it's 101* outside!)?

On my machine I can open the hood after its warmed up and be able to get near the engine. When its up near the red or in the red the heat justs blasts off the engine. You can't get near without feeling it.

100 degrees ain't so bad by Western standards but I don't envy you on that swamp called Long Island.

Those things are awsome! If you had one, you could shoot the upper rad hose to find the temp. Tell ya if the sensor if working or not.

Well, I popped out the fan and shroud (it's SO easy- without the mechanical fan, that is), and the mud was caked on in a circular patter, with the circle being the clean part (I'd cleaned it when I returned from the last Jamboree).

So I spent 30 minutes with a hose. Every time I thought it was clean, I found a spot that spewed out dirt. So I kept going. All radiators (all 3 of them!) are clean as a whistle now! I had water flowing from inside out, and outside in. And when I was all done, I DID IT SOME MORE!

I left it idling with the AC on and windows open for about 30 minutes and the temp was fine. We'll see how it does in the heat of mid-day, but I'd be willing to bet my bottom dollar that it's fixed now.

Darn those muddy cranberry patches!

Now, where can I find a cheap heat laser gun?
