I hope your wife has settled down by now. What a terrible thing to have happened. That being said. If someone were to rip off the fuel door of my KJ that would just be the beginning of a very bad situation. "I was in fear for my life, officer."

But officer I only backed over him because after I hit him I thought he was trapped under my bumper. I didn't realize that I had gone clean over him with both sets of wheels the first time and he was really behind me!

If this had happened to me I would have had some words with the joggers, maybe convince them of the errors or their ways with the help of torque wrench. They might end up with flares stuck up their behinds, or maybe tied up with zip ties ...

You ever see those anti carjacking devices they made awhile back

Image

Okay that MIGHT be a little extreme, but in some cases it is certainly called for.

That thing was invented by a South African man who was worried about getting carjacked while driving around (South Africa has the HIGHEST rate of carjacking incidents in the world, many of which are violent and occur in broad daylight).

Piping is run from the gas tank to pressurized nozzles on both sides of the vehicle. The button to activate the system looks like one of those latch-covering switch devices you see in the movies.

Sells for $10,000 but is illegal in the US of A, unfortunately...

This is where the Maglite attached to the drivers seat doubles as a beat down stick. I highly recommend keeping a camera in the Jeep also. You may not have the presence of mind to remember it, but you might.

I've been looking for an aftermarket billet fuel door for the KJ FOREVER... but have come up emptyhanded. Nobody makes one for the KJ. I'm tempted to paint the stock one silver or something... ANYTHING.

I think people were using billet gas doors for dodge rams. I am not 100% but pretty sure. Might make a new topic an dsee if anyone knows.

I used the Billet door from a Wrangler, screw on. Stylin Concepts have a stick on version. I would use a larger door, and I thing the Dodge pick up door is bigger.

It's called a Cross"Walk", not a Cross"Run". The same goes for bikes, if you are riding your bike inside the Crosswalk, you are in the wrong. Either get off and walk it or move over into the lanes with the rest of the traffic.

Also, there are no force fields that go up when you enter a crosswalk. Look both ways and always be wary of cars pulling up to the intersection. Stephen Hawking is a very admirable man but I would never want to live like he does confinded to a wheelchair with a straw.

My best friend got hit in a crosswalk, doing a bonehead "blind" walk right into the street without looking assuming that the traffic will just stop for him. The car that hit him didn't even slow down and took off hit and run style. He got thrown about 50 feet and the other pedestrians said that he somersaulted three times before he hit the ground.

First off I want to thank everyone here on the forum for their help and suggestions. I like Jeger's idea, but that one would get me in trouble.

So I finally got a hold of someone at the closest dealership. They told me that they don't have it in stock but would only take a day or two to get in.
They want $38.32 for it, even though it only list for $27 from Mopar. Now I know why everyone calls them "stealerships"!!

Mopar wholesale online has it for $20.50, but Jeepin Al sold me one for cheaper.

So I want to send a special thanks out to Jeepin Al, and I'll let you know when I get it and I'll post a picture of it here.

Once again thanks to all on this great forum.
