It finally started snowing in my area (nothern / eastern Metro Detroit) around 3:30. I left work around 4:00 so the roads only had a thin coating on them... But I think I am going to run out and drive around the block so to speak .

We were originally going to get my mom unstuck in her AWD Pontiac Torrent on a drifted country road but she got out and told us there were a couple people stuck in cars on a road close to our house. I had already went out to town to get gas so I knew it was getting bad....we passed a guy in a Duramax dualie and snowplow and he complained "It's REALLY bad...you guys don't want to try it!!" Well me and my sisters BF were feeling corky in our Jeeps so we took off down the road ignoring the warning!! 8)

We hit a point where the drifts were OVER my fog lights and engulfing my bumper...and mind you my KJ is STOCK....but I was in 4 HI just chugging along.....finally we just went off in the field it was soo bad...we got to a guy in a buick car....BURIED....made a little path to another guys house and got him out and then pulled a guy in a Chevy Jimmy out of a drift after he even said he was in 4HI!! The guy in the Buick said "What kinda vehicles ARE THOSE????!" Jeeps DUH!!!

God I LOVE MY KJ! Oh and at the end of the day we both made $35!! 8) $17 a piece....GAS MONEY BABY!!!

We're guna have another go at it in the morning....people in cars wont get anywhere down these roads for work in the morning and I'm GUARANTEEING we won't have school! Hopefully we can make some more $$!

Just had to share that with all you guys.....what fun!! :D

It's 6:10 pm here in Grafton Ohio, 28 miles west of cleveland and were in the midts of a blizard. Allready had the kj out in it today. I drove all the way to town and back in 4-wheel high without ever hitting dry pavement, the roads all snow covered and it's getting worse. The kj is of course a champ in the snow and the traction control works great. Both rear tires will spin like it has posi. I know we complain about the kj being a bit porky, but in these conditions, I found the added weight to be a plus. It has a nice solid feel and just grabs and goes slinging snow as it goes.

I escaped downtown Cleveland at 3:00 pm and didn't get to Kent until after 6:00 pm. I like the extra weight of the KJ in the snow and the diesel is a real plus. Too bad most everyone else on the road couldn't run through the snow. Finally gave up waiting on some and simply drove around them.

Tommudd, I remember your wife was coming out here. How is she doing? Where did she end up finding a place? Hope all is well. Oh yeah, we are definitely getting some snow. Not as much as inland, but still snow nonetheless :D

Just got back. I made it around the block once and fell in love with my KJ all over again! Then I got out the shovel and started going to work on the driveway thinking I'd be able to cut down on the amount of snow that'll pile up in the morning.

I'm off for the Hot Coco now.

I am north of Indianapolis about 45 miles. Well we are in the heavy snow belt.

The town just south of us reported 16 inches.

We have about the same and we have big drifts.

At the end of it all, we ended up with 12 inches of fresh snow on top of the 3 we already had. Took me 2.5 hours to shovel my wife's side of the driveway so she could driver her Mazda6 to work this morning. My driveway was one big snowdrift with an average depth of 2 feet.

I might buy a Keep strap from Menard's at lunchtime. On my way to work, I had to pass a guy shoveling out his stuck minivan. I would have offered him a tug if I had a strap.

I love snow. My office was closed yesterday due to the storm. It was nice to have an extra day with the whole family together. :)

Forecasters are calling for more snow on Saturday. I hope to clear the KJ side of the driveway before then. Not that it needs it... 8)

Ohio is wimpy, wood county (east of Toledo) had a emergency level 3 snow thing, so the sheriff cant arrest people for driving on the roads.

nothing beats a liberty with full-time and ESP.

There's 12" sitting on top of my jeep right now. I had cleaned it off before I left for work at 8am.

Is this amount of snow uncommon for you folks up there?

Nah, not at all. I even got an ambulance unstuck on the way home from work. The interstates around me were shut down so I had to take city streets, which never get plowed. An ambulance got stuck going around a corner. I hooked up and tugged them backwards, then they were fine.

It was slow going though. I just left it in first and tranny braked doing 10mph down the hills.

We haven't this much snow at one time in a long time. The condo assoc plowed my drive last night and it was up to the bottom of the doors pulling out of the garage in the morning.

Downtown Cleveland looked like a war zone this morning. They weren't even towing the wrecks and abandoned cars, just plowed around them.

Northeast Ohio here .. we have about 22 inches right now and its still snowing! They just plowed our street about 3 hours ago, before that it had about a foot and a half of snow. The kj has done great .. never even come close to getting stuck in 4wd.

HOWEVER, earlier today it started making wierd noises during acceleration and was lurching. The check engine light blinked for a while and now it's just on full time :( . She's going into the shop first thing tomorrow morning
