Yesterday I bought a MOPAR hitch from a local dealer as well as the 7-way wiring harnes. While picking up all the parts from the dealer we determined not to install the electric brake wiring kit (at least not for now).
The hitch + wiring was just over $300 and it took less than one hour to button up 6 bolts and run the OEM wiring. Down the road I might tackle the electic brake harnes but it requires a lot of work (running wires all the way from the engine compartment, thru the dash all the way to the cargo space).

The nice thing about the OEM equipment is full warranty eventhough I did the install.
A local hitch place wanted ~ $300+ to install an aftermarket hitch (no big deal) and some kind of none-OEM wiring (this was a biggie) so I decidet to bite a bullet and go the OEM route.

I had to buy a new ball-adapater that has 12.5" cpread from the pin-hole to the center of the ball shank in order to clear the spare tire.

My boat got in and out of the water with no problem...towing was a breeze to0.
As this Libby has less than 8,000 I have to break her in nicely as the prevos owner did not do any towing. Pulling the boat at higher RPMs should cean up all the gunk as this truck was babied for 2+ years.

I do so called "Italian Tuneups" on my VW TDI which consists of running the car in the red RPM zone for a few miles once a month. This cleans the engine components nicely. Towing the boat in 3-4th gear at 3000+ RPM should have the same effect....
