No KJ's came with engine oil coolers, the big "cooler" right in front of the raditor(about the same size as it) is the A/C condensor. If you have the PS cooler it's real small and visible on the drivers side insde the grill. The tranny cooler for the 42RLE's(and the tow package for the older KJ's with the 45RFE) is right behind the front crossmenber, visible on the very bottom of the front grill(and does not recieve very much air flow at all, stupid location). All KJ's with the 45RFE have the primary tranny cooler built into the raditor.

I tapped into the "in" radiator cooler return line on my KJ and put in a 28,000lbs GVWR AUX tranny cooler which is located right in the middle of the visible grill in front of the A/C condensor for maximun air flow.

Up here in Saskatchewan if you drive around with your reciever in the hitch and you aren't towing and you get rear ended; you are at fault! WHACK, I know!! If you did have it in and got hit not overly hard, it would probobly stop a vehicle or at least slow it down enough to not cause damage to the KJ. If it got hit hard enough to bend it, then like they all said, you'd hae serious issues anyways!

Yes you would have to drop the hitch to install the skid.

Did you see the post I had earlier about Zip Ties?

If your hitch has the oval 4th holes, one on both sides, pull the center bolt out and fish a zip tie in through those holes. pull out the other 4 bolts and cut one zip tie, (Floor jack under the receiver part is handy) and lower the hitch.

Use zip ties again for the skid and raise the hitch up and get one bolt started. the one on the otherside. If hole on skid don't line up all the way (mine didn't with a OEM skid) just muscle it in and start the bolts. Get 2 on each side started and cut zip ties and start the last 2 bolts. tighten to specs and have fun.

Last tip, remove the wire harness from the hitch before dropping it. Hitch will put a strain on it of pull it out as it drops from the weight.
