I use Pennzoil in all my vehicles/motorcycles...

77 Ranchero GT 351 - 160,000 (Pennzoil semi-synth for first 80K)
83 CJ5 Renegade 4.2L - 140,000 (Conventional Pennz)
98 Cherokee 4.0L - 115,000 (Conventional Pennz)
05 Liberty Renegade - 30,000 (Conventional Pennz)

None of these vehicles use any more oil than when they were new.

Except for synthetics, oil is oil.

I was beginning to think that I was the only one that was using Royal Purple...

but to be honest, I was looking for Amsoil, it's just that Crappy Tire (Canadian Tire for you US folk) was out of Amsoil and doesn't restock their shelves very often, let alone bring in a product when they promise to. The next oil change is going to be Amsoil. I found a better source for it than Crappy Tire! Diffs, engine, t-case and all. I'm going to bite the bullet and see how it goes!

I have used pennzoil in a few vehicles that have gone over 200K........Although I at least use synthetics now. Shell rotella T 5W40 goes in everything I own  even the motorcycle.

Sometimes I wonder how much the oil even matters, as long as its a good quality oil changed at reasonable intervals I honestly think your engine will be fine, unless you drive it like its a race car..

A malfunctioning cooling system will have a far greater impact in 1000 miles than the difference between mobil 1 and amsoil over 100K miles

Just dont use quakerstate in a 79 LTD  that was nasty!

Just dont use Quaker State in ANY vehicle saw the effects way back in the 70s when I started wrenching. BAD, bad , bad You could tell as soon a s you tore down the engine :(

Mobile 1 for me have had SEVERAL vehicles go well over 250000 one over 300000 miles and no problems, my 95 Cherokee has over 267000 now and still sounds great, well with exception of the transfer case!

nothing but mobil 1 in mine for almost 50000 miles. i am a member of a mazda forum and most of them use penzoil platnum. They have very good UOAs after 10000 miles. however i will be using amsoil in my gfs car next.

I use Havoline GF4... It performs as well or better than synthetics at normal drain intervals due to very high moly content. Go check out www.bobistheoilguy.com.

By the way, do some reading up on Mobil 1 and Castrol synthetics. They don't use a fully synthetic base stock anymore (Mobil 1 used to, Castrol never did). Mobil arbitrated against castrol claiming to be "synthetic" and lost. Then mobil changed it's base stock to the cheaper hydrocracked stuff castrol was using. So when it comes to Mobil and Castrol, "synthetic" is just a marketing term to get you to shell out the $$$.

went through this whole discussion a few months past, to me its either Amsoil if I could get it without shipping but since not Mobil 1 has served me better than all the rest. case closed

A period got included at the end of your link and it doesn't work with it. It's fine if you remove it or click this one http://www.bobistheoilguy.com

Medved at castle rock sells amsoil, although that might be too far away from you.
I am running mobil1 5w30 truck and suv.
BTW- is the '06 now spec'ed to take 5w20 like the '07's, or do we stick w/ 5w30. i heard the narrow passage ways of the 3.7's do better w/ the thin stuff?
The big question is, has anyone here done a used oil analysis with their oil? I have read that the best results are coming with penzoil platinum-least wear of anything-penzoil wax and sludge are myths. Go to Bobistheoilguy. That will clear it all up...

Shell Rotella 5W-40W Synthetic for the last 70,000 miles in my 2003 Jetta TDI. Higher ratings for use in diesels than the Mobil 1 even though they are both Dino based synthetics. Switching over to the higher rated ELF Excellium 0W30 Synthtic for the winter in the TDI to take advantage of the higher VW 502.00 and 505.00 ratings and extended change intervals.

Gonna switch over the CRD to Amsoil oil and oil filter for the winter. Which Amsoil oil product do you guys run in the winter where you may see temps between 0 - 32F?

My last 2 rides a '95 Dodge Dakota 4x4 5.2L I used 0W-30 after talking to Amsoil when I bought my '02 Sport 4x4 3.7L automatic I called Amsoil and once a again they recommended 0W-30 since I used Amsoil since 1976 I always use what they recommend not regrets. When ever I'm getting a buddy switched out we look at all the literature Amsoil supplies then I contact Amsoil and ask for what they would reccomend then we discuss what ever my buddy wants I'm not into a hard sell, but I try to supply as much information and discuss all available options. I have never had anyone regret their conversion to Amsoil plus moost truly appreiciate a listing and discussion of all the different options before we put Amsoil in. You can never have too moch information. Having sold Amsoil for 30 years I have never had a disatisfied customer. When making an investment like this in your baby I want to give you the best advise and support I can.

Does going to the 0w30 affect the warranty? That sure sounds like some good oil...
