I believe in conservation of natural resources just as much as the next camper but I break it down like this: I shouldn't drive and SUV. But by that fact I shouldn't drive a car, boat, or anything else that is depleting the nonrenewable resources either. I am not going to stop driving, so I keep my tires inflated on my vehicles and if everyone else did the same we would save as much oil as Alaska pumpes out every year. Just a quick random thought. :D

What class are yall then if a KJ aint an SUV I dunno what is...not sayin they aint capable SUVs but they are what they are, cant cut it any other way...

They are oversized station wagons. Look at it that way. Car chasis with storage space. I wonder if they will ever create the side bench seats in the cargo area like the old station wagons. You could pack a bunch of kids back there in those things. Breat out the old Country Squires.

There is a huge difference between conservation & environmentalism. One is a honest love for nature with the desire to conserve it for future generations to enjoy. The other is a political movement interested in controlliing people in the way they see fit. They whip up hysterical consern over owls, frogs, & a warm day, then pass laws telling you what you can & can't do. Does anyone know what Mikhail Gorbachev is up to, now that he no longer has a job as a jack booted thug repressing the people of the former USSR? He heads an environmental group called The Green Cross based in San Fransisco.

IF he's so concerned about the state of the environment, why isn't he over there cleaning up the bilge & filth that his sociallist regime poured over it's land? No, he's over here, trying to get you out of your Jeep.

SUV's are so lame, real men drive trucks, "JUST KIDDING"!!!! but just in case I drive both ha ha, A mustang GT also !!! They are going a bit over board with this new green movement. I, like most want to help the enviroment, but I don't like things pushed down my throat. They want us all to drive little econo boxes as another step to strip us of our mannlyness. The less mannly we feel, the easier it is for them to push the lame agenda on us as well, it's a 2 fold plot. Jeeps have allways been small and the standard power plant as been a 4 cylinder for years starting with the willy's. The greens are just afraid that they'll run into an suv with thier econo-boxes while kissing thier boyfriends and get the worst end of the deal. The greens should just walk or ride a bike, 'YEAH", a tandom, so thier boyfriends have a place to ride, then they won't have to worry about running into an suv. Then they will really be saving gas and not polluting and it's romantic. They should leave us jeepers alone as we spend a good deal of time off the road, not likely to get hit by one of us unless they are hugging a tree in the wilderness. As long as there is gas and I can afford it, I'll burn it, all in all. it's just the mannly thing to do. They just don't want us on the highways, they don't want us off/road either, thier allways trying to close trails and ban us from goverment lands. They don't want us to hunt, fish, wheel, chew, drink or believe in Jesus. If it isn't an all out attack on our way of life, I don't know what is. I'm more worried about the greens than terrorist, at least terrorist have never attacked my jeep.

Oil will probably be gone in my lifetime, so what difference does it make if its going to get used anyways. Its already too late to stop any sort of climate change that is already happening, all we can do is keep it from getting worse. I do agree that with the statement that people driving way oversized SUVs with only 1 passenger ALL the time its a bit ridiculous. But of course, it all boils down to money. If youve got the cash to burn on that much gas for just yourself, then its your choice to use it filling up your tank twice as much as most of the other people out there. I know for a fact that if I didnt live out in the mountains where I drive offroad daily and snows 8-9 months out of the year I too would have a car that gets 30mpg, just for sake of saving money, not the environment (not that im not concerned about pollution, just the fact that someone is going to use that gas because it IS in limited quantity).

i had a little econobox, a scion xB. yes, you get 32 consistant mpg and yes you can trick out a scion to no end, but there is no substance there at all. the car was rickety, it had cheap thin paint, it blew around in the wind on the road, it felt like if i crashed into anything other than a garbage can i was toast. the jeep is very heavy, i feel protected, it has a great number of active safety features that you cant get on most sub-compact or compact cars other than ABS (not available on hyundai accent 3-door GL models). i think i was very reasonable with this purchase in that i feel better protected and 18 around town, 23 open road miles per gallon is more than reasonable for such a heavy vehicle. plus its not overwhelmingly huge, its a decent size for just me and trips to wal-mart/sams club

Truth be known, oil won't run out in any of our life times, there's more oil in N.america in sand and shale than in all of the middle east. They just have to get at it, there's also still lots of oil in the north and under the sea. Oil won't run out because they will have us using other fuels long before then. When the day comes that 80% are using other fuels, gas will be cheaper than water once again. Ford is doing alot of work with hydrogen. I believe the earth is a living planet that cycles it's self and thats all it's doing. ice age, warm age, it's all apart of the earths ever changing cycles. I'm not saying we shouldn't take care of our enviroment, but the greens are trying to insite panic over nothing. We will one day move past oil, not because we have none, but because it's old school tech and we'll move past it for modern advances. Oil will one day be very cheap again and thats if anyone is still pumping or refining it. I personally believe that God is in control when it comes to his planet and people. He may allow us to kill one another out of our dumbness, but not his creation. The earth has built in safe guards that enables it to renew it's self. Such as forest fires, earth quakes, tidel waves and valcano's to name a few, the earth is allways in regeneration. The biggest threat to the planet is over population and the earth will take care of that as well if we don't. The greens take an idea that sounds good and right and use it to push a socialist agenda. This is one american that can see through the smoke and mirrors, it's time for another Boston tea party. THE POWER OF THE VOTE IS WHAT CHANGES THINGS, use it
