Took me a minute, but I just realized why this violation doesn't call for points on one's license.

It's public indecency, not a moving violation. Either that or he was jealous:)

As I work in the business of dropping paper on motorists.....this is my best explanation and advice:

1) As Grumpee said: Stop speeding ;)

2) You should have a period of days printed on the ticket to respond to the offence (This is how we do it in City I work for in Ontario).......you would be required to RESPOND to the ticket via 1 of 4 options detailed on the reverse of your ticket.

Those options:

A) Pay the early fine (Within 10 days)
B) Pay the set Fine (Within 15 days)
C) Make an appoinment with a First Attendance facilitator to discuss your ticket and see about reducing the fine.
D) Go to trial.

Whenever I issue a ticket I ALWAYS advise First Attendance or Court.

Some of the fines we give out are way to expensive to pay out in 10 days......so by going to F/A or Court you have done a number things and they are:

1) You have responded to the ticket in one of the 4 options and are no longer required to pay the fine within the set amount of days

2) You have given yourself a buffer of at least a month to prepare to pay for the fine in the case that Trial or F/A doesnt work out for you.

3) If you are guilty of the offence and dont deny you were in contravention of the particular traffic offence, you may plead "guilty with an explanation" in court or at F/A and they will most likely reduce the fine and further give a few options on time to pay the fine. 1-90 days is the norm.

Play the system.....

Following this should give you a good deal of time to prepare to pay, and should save you money, if not, not cost you a thing if successful with F/A or Court.

Good luck.

ROFL no...i mean I didnt stop at the stop sign...but maybe you knew that.

I've never tried to flirt my way out of a ticket, what with being a guy and all. Maybe I'll have to try someday.
