the first thing I purchased were the black mopar/jeep "wetsuit" seat covers....yes they were expensive....so I charged them....

they're not waterproof but they are great otherwise....they fit so tight you'd think it was the upholstery....yea neatus, I agree with you.....stretching them on the seats definitely should count as a modification just because of the difficulty... :P

they look great....when the dusts and debris comes in the open windows, a damp cloth cleans them up....they're black so nothing shows anyway....they're much more in the spirit of a jeep than leather and just like with the skids underneath...no stress...

You guys still have the seats in? It's a Jeep for crying out loud. Take it to the car wash and hose "r" down. Just kiddin. I remember every stain(logging road, stream crossing, ditch swimming, etc.) and love every one of them! Only in a Jeep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The other day, i accidently left my drivers window down about 2 inches, and it was raining when i got up in the morning...needless to say, i had about 4 inches of wet seat. After 2 days of it drying, i see no marks to show that it was wet there. I have a 2005 Rennie. Is this a problem with all the types of cloth seats, on all years? Oh and i didnt pay for any scotchguard seat protection.

I found that after trail running, etc. and getting into the libby, over time my seats were starting to stain..and it was from all the salt in the sweat when I sat down. My suggestion would be to get a cover for your seat...that's what I plan on doing.

I have the seats with the Jeep logo embroidered on them and they never stain. I have left the window down when raining, mud everywhere, dog running around, etc and no problems. They are resilient. I haven't seen them in any other Jeep though. I think they were just part of the Rocky Mountain Edition but I'm not sure.

Have an 04. Dark grey seats. They developed "water" spots a while back. Looks like someone poored some diluted bleach on'em and "faded" areas about the size of a sliver dollar pancakes appeared. I'll have'em cleaned before I turn it in next year. The spots are on both the drivers and passenger seats. Too dark in the back to see if the kids seats have the same problem.

I have a couple of stains on the back seats. I bought my '04 used so the stains were already there. I purchased automotive upohlstry cleaner and scotch guard to clean and protect the seats. I haven't yet done this and now it's cold weather so I might wait until Spring to try cleaning and protecting.

One problem I'm having with the cloth seats is I get shocked  everytime I get out or sometimes in, since it's turned cold no matter what I do. I was thinking about getting the neoprene seat covers or; on eBay there are a couple of auctions for synthetic leather and canvas seat covers for $70 each. I'm wondering if either of these covers would help reduce my static shock when getting in or out of the KJ. Also the covers would add extra protection to the front seats. Any ideas or suggestions?

Crystal-
If you're constantly getting a good jolt when exiting, try finding a metal surface inside the Jeep before sliding out. This will 'ground' you and it should be a much smaller 'zap' than after you slide out. The sliding out part is what builds up the static voltage on your clothes and body before you inadvertently touch the door to close it.(That, or try to remember to close the door by the handle, which is plastic.) Most of the interior is plastic, but I've 'grounded' myself to the door before opening it, you just have to make sure you're still touching it when you close the door.
I've actually seen blue sparks jump from my fingertips on cold dry days- believe me, IT HURTS!!
P.S.- The neoprene seat covers will only act as an insulator, and will actually build up more static electricity, thus an even bigger'zap'.
Be careful, especially around gas pumps!

I have a set of seat-savers front and back. Made by Covercraft Really nice set of covers. They are water proof. and machine washable. I did spray a coat of Nikwax on them.
BTW Nikwax will even turn a Tshirt into a raincoat. been there done that.

I was just wondering if anyone has had the same issue with the '06 Liberty Sport. I have had mine for about 2 weeks, and the day I bought it, it was raining. The seats got a little wet but left no stains, btw I did not get it scotchguarded from the dealer. I bough a couple cans of SG and did it myself, $5 cans vs $500 at the dealer. Anyways I was jsut wondering if anyone experienced this with the '06. Do you know if the seats are made of the same material as the ones that are having this problem.

Oh yeah I have cloth seats.
