If I remember right Line-X and Rhino lining need a primed or painted surface to bond to.I know Mortons bedliner does,Hurculiner is a waste of time.Line-X and Rhino lining needs to be applied by a dealer with there special aplicators($$$$),Mortons you can buy the spray gun(only $20) but need a compressor that puts out 14CFM at 90psi to apply it.
And for anytype of primer to stick to the textured surface it needs to be sanded, have fun with that.
like i said before be very careful when sanding plastics. especially this kind. If it gets too hot to quick it will start to smear and its a pita to try and fix. I dont think ive ever heard of a bedline or protectant coating that doesnt need to be primed. An as soon as i get to work on monday ill ask our formula guy and see where we get our rhino stuff from. They say you need special crap. You really dont. We use the same guns for everything. We just use different caps, tips, and filters for different kinds of paints or coatings. An acetone is just an example of something you could use to clean it up. Ive never used acetone on the plastic before. An now that i think about it it may eat away at it. you might want to get a few different strippers and test on the air dam you have first. An Krylon fusion is really no different from any other paint. They just add accelerator and some adhesion stuff to make it stick to make their "special formula" paint. Its been said about a million times on here DONT TRUST A RATTLE CAN
