While we are on the subject how about something for the rear glass being open... sometimes when getting wood for a remodel or project it would be nice to have it open and not chime...

Thanks
Mike

Mine only chimes a few times, but when it starts and displays “GLASS” on your instrument cluster just push the trip meter/odometer button. The message should go away and it shouldn’t chime unless you turn the car off and on again.

Guyute - I looked throughout my entire manual and even searched the net a little. I'm guessing because mine only chimes for no longer than 6 seconds (according to the manual) that the don't tell you how to turn it off. Sorry.

Yeah, I tried the "nintendo" method with the seatbelt about 1 hour ago and it still chimes...

I ought to go down to Jeep Truck and ask them what is going on!

BeltAlert is an '04+ thing. That's why '02 and '03 people have no clue about it.

I just put my seatbelt on. I don't like taking any chances... so it never does annoy me. It's only 2 seconds of my time. I'd put my belt on even if that chime wasn't there. Even moving the cars in the driveway, it's on.

I just buckle the belt and sit in front of it so I can look out my window and place my tires on the correct line. I would rather be able to see the edge with my belt off than not see it with my belt on and rool off the darn cliff

Just flip the latch in the door to the closed position and the chime will stop............just remeber to pull the door handle(to release the latch) before trying to close the door( or it will bounce back at you LOL )
If you have the motor running and do this trick before shutting off motor the windows will still operate without the keys in it for about 20 mins (I think thats how long that last before the BCM shuts it down) :)
