BUT, my first experience in a Jeep was my Dad's 77 Grand Wagoneer. I was pissed when he traded it for a 2WD 82 F-150, and I was only 9!

* There is in argument for the first year of the CJ2A. All I can tell you is that it had a '45 build date & was titled as a '45. All of the dash ID plates were there & intact. This was the 286th CJ2A produced. It was NOT an MB.

1992 XJ 2WD - My first new car. Insurance would not let me get a 4WD.
1997 TJ - Had to go when my son was born. Boy do I miss it.
2002 KJ - This is what I traded the TJ for. I'm loving it. (still miss the TJ)

Only on my second vehicle but I've got a 2002 Grand Cherokee Limited. First vehicle I've taken a loan out on. Love/hate relationship.

First vehicle, though it wasn't a Jeep, was a 1994 S-10 Blazer. Bought it for a grand with 200,000 miles on it. Sold it with 238,00 and the guy I sold it to loves it. Still kicking myself for selling it because I've gotta take my WJ out on the trails now and sometime my lucks gonna run out and I'm going to break something :D

I bought a '72 CJ5 in 1976 when I was 15. It was rolled but the frame was straight. I paid $750 for it and spent another $350 in body parts and paint. It had the 304 V8 in it and it only had 1100 miles on it (the guy towed it on a trailer and only used it for hunting). Then I learned about the wonderful world of mods and spent every dime I made for the next 18 months on it. Sold it to a friend for $1000 in 1979. I always wanted another Jeep but it took nearly 30 years before I got one. I will always have one in the stable from now on!!!

I don't know ... lately I've been thinking how cramped it is in my KJ when it's packed with camping gears, cooking stuff (even with the roof rack holding the tent, camp pads, and sleeping bags).

I've been toying with the idea of a VW vanagon on steroid ... 32" mud tires, TDI engine ... dream dream dream ... :P

How about this? More interior room than a Suburban. It's for sale.

Yes, that's a solid front axle and it has a two speed transfer case. Belt line down is Herculined.

Or you could put a 4" lift and 31" tires on an AWD Astro. 2 speed transfer cases from S-10s bolt in fairly easily as well.

My first Jeep was a used '98 Blue TJ Sport w/ a manual tranny I loved that beast for 5 years.
But traded it in for my current KJ CRD and couldn't be any happier, much easier to drive in town but I miss the off-road clearance... Won't drive buy anything but another JEEP, and will never buy another gasser! (dreaming of CRD Patriot to replace wifes PT Cruiser &/or '00 XJ)

My first Jeep was my '06 CRD... my first off road toy was this tank...

Image

This was a total junkyard build when I was 17 years old... it got 2 miles per gallon and had a top speed of 40 mph. But it also had rockwells so I didn't care  The majority of the drivetrain was from a $400 army truck I won at a surplus auction... it was fun and the whole truck cost me around $4500

My GF at the time at the mud drags....(it was slow but always made it through)

1984 CJ 7. Matter of fact, this was also the first new car purchase for me.

Mine was a 99 WJ. It was black on camel cloth....4x4, the great 4.0l engine. I miss that thing. But the first Jeep in my family that we know of was a late 40's Willys Station wagon. I'm pretty sure it was a 4x4.
