Yeah the m14 is my squadron's offical gun.

I'm better shooting with a gas mask on than off...go fig.
I don't know if I've ever shot an m11.
What's your afsc or moa?

why are u guys still using M14's? hahaha afsc or moa? thats army/af terms. lol. im in the navy. job maybe? lol

I dunno, shorter than the m16's, a little easier to carry around.

I thought everyone besides af used moa. my mistake. the navy just calls it job? no acroynom? I thought the navy was a branch of the military

shorter than the M16 is an M4. my baby. i love that rifle. we call it RATEs but using "job" everyone can understand.

Oh then yes, m4. I've only shot once with my new flight. My gun in my "job" before this flight was the m9 and m16. funny, I actually stopped for a second before I wrote m14 and though, "no, it's the m4"...then I thought, "no, m4's a handgun..." duh. see what happens when you start running on no sleep?
I shoulda had a V8.

lol. doo doo happens. well to answer your question. im an AC (air traffic controller) in the navy.

Cool, I did ATC for about 2 1/2 years for the NC guard about 3 years ago. Helped with Noble Eagle down in Bocca Chica Naval Air Base near Key West since they're not open nights there.

I'm AF weather now, army support.

Just so you all don't ask questions, I deleted some of the extra posts.

I went through the Navy without firing at a shooting range :?

Only live fire I did were blanks in an M16 lol. My weapons were a keyboard and mouse :P

Edit: I liked Sig P228/P229s (M11) better than the Beretta Model 92s (M9). Although the M9s are easy to take apart.

Yeah the site had trouble loading a couple times and oops! posted too many times!

The M9s are also waaaay easier to clean....(smaller is better!)
I did the blanks from an m16 during some army trianing at camp blanding....what a blast that was. digging foxholes and using NVGs.....so much fun.

I wish I had more time to go camping than I do.

I don't have too much contact with military types, but you are the first one i have EVER heard say they LIKE the M9.

Most I have talked to say the wish the 1911 was on their hips and in their hands.

I like the feel of the M9 (92fs) and it is a cool weapon, but John Browning had it right the first time. the 1911 just feels so natural in ANY hand. Simple extension of the arm, with 230 garins of hard ball to boot.

Wish we could go back to it and not suck up to the nato crap.

JMHO.

I agree. I'm always a bit skeptical when they think they know things before they've even witnessed the problem.

Good luck!
