I went with the solid chrome Lug nuts myself.

I take them off and put them on by hand. I tried an impact on one of them and it looked like it would eventually chip them.

Does the chrome lug nuts look okay with the aluminum wheels?

Yes, they look fine untill they start rusting. Rust versus caps breaking off, your choice.

Original lug nuts will work just fine. Everyone complains about the caps coming off but I have had 4 different sets of tires on 2 different sets of wheels , rotated my tires every 3 to 4,000 miles and now with over 107,000 caps are all still tight. Of course I have never let anyone use an air gun on them, all taking on and off has been done by me. No one touches my..... lug  nuts.

Jeepjeepster, is that the correct thread size in the link that you provided above?
(Conical Seat, Bulge, 1/2 in. x 20 RH, Closed End, Chrome Plated Steel.)

Oh, and the “McGard lug nuts are guaranteed for life. They're triple nickel chrome plated for lasting beauty, and are made of restricted chemistry steel for structural integrity. All McGard lug nuts are through-hardened and tempered, reaching the depth of hardness needed for their unsurpassed level of safety (unlike case-hardening, which is only a surface treatment). McGard lug nuts also offer a lifetime guarantee against rust!”

They are $12.99 for a set of 4. So lets do the math. I would need 6 sets of 4 which = 24 lug nuts. That would be 5 per wheel, 3 for the spare, and 1 extra. So that’s $12.99 X 6 set which = $77.94. Not cheap, but they sound like they are some nice nuts.

the chrome will look fine, as far as the rusting what hurts the lug the most is the impact wrench once its starts chiping the finish you get the rust, get the chrome ones.
