Not quite, there is a large dent in the plastic, but it isn't leaking. If I end up getting a aftermarket bumper, I'll probably have to relocate it anyways.

I am in need of a beach / lots of water fix! Live 10 minutes from Lake Erie here but not any good beaches to walk, play on, so thought we would try that side of MI and see something new!

I live about 10-15 min away from Lake Michigan and don't go there very often.

Hey, if it's not leaking, I call that surviving! And it can stay right where it is if you get an ARB bumper.

Well got a rental today. It's a 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser. Got it for one month. Tomorrow the vehicle appraiser comes to look at the Jeep. Any tips from people who went through this process.

Hope nobody got hurt. Yesterday you were just talking about selling it and get your Liberty back. Is that the airbag sitting on top of the hood?

Tom: How was Michigan for you? The western side of the state has very nice beaches and beatuiful sunsets.

The apriaser will probably low ball your repair bill. Make sure you point out all the damage to the frame if they don't see it. You'll also want to tell them what body shop you plan to work with so they know that you are not planning to pocket the insurance check.

So how do I get the money to get an aftermarket bumper, like RL?

some body shops will work with you, tell them that you will take care of the bumper and they will say well the bumper would be XX dollars, labor so much , paint so much, so we can give you that back and then you buy the bumper

Ahh, the one thing I don't miss about Michigan.

NO FAULT INSURANCE.

I hope everything comes out in the wash for you, jeepkj02!

Here's what I don't know about other states without no-fault insurance.

If someone hits you, and they don't have insurance, does YOUR insurance pick up the bill?

Either that or this is all an elaborate plan to collect insurance money and buy another one? That is one dedicated Liberty owner to ram his car into something to get his Libby back!

Only if you have comprehensive, if you don't then your SOL from the sensored word who rear ended you then took off.
(happens quite often here)

However you can pickup a "uninsured motorist" coverage bit that covers you if you have liability only, and someone else is at fault without insurance, cheap for safeties sake. I dont carry comprehensive insurance on any of my vehicles(too much $$) I do however carry the uninsured motorist coverage. I figure this way I am covered for anything that is not my fault.

I thought the appraiser would come today, but he had some computer troubles. So I set up an appointment for tomorrow morning. Wish me luck.
