If I was going to run power tools off it and was going to use it a ton for more than just tires, I'd get the Powertank. It is worth the $$ in that case. Since I only use it to fill tires on occasion, I am more than happy with my $185 setup. So if you plan on really putting the tank to use, get the Powertank and you won't regret it. If you only want to fill tires from the random off road excursion, you don't need all the bells and whistles that the makes the Powertank cost so much and should be happy with the less expensive unit.

Was wondering if anyone has found this same PowerTank package for less? These things aren't cheap.
The regulator alone is more then worth the price, ask JJ.

I'll take your word for it since I recently ran across his write-up on mounting the tank in his KJ. - Thanks.

My initial thought was for airing up, but if it works as well as I am being led to believe, I just may use it for tools, etc.

The guy who built my tank probably could provide the parts for yours.

if you have the valve for the top the regulator is easy
get a high flow oxygen regulator for a cutting torch
they make several different flavors of these things but you can get one for ~$100
it should have out-put adjustment from 0-200 psi ,any thing less and it is not high flow
change the fitting to work with CO2 and there you go
I got this info and set up from a welding supply house and NEVER have a freeze up
even running an air ratchet for long bolts or removing and reinstalling 5 lug nuts with an impact
we even used it to run a 3/4 drive impact at work a while back ,burnt through some "juice" but it worked
to break loose some 1" bolts, had to change the fittings to work with the 1/2" hose but this is way more than you will ever need

oh yeah and the same welding supply house can probably get you a valve if you need it
you will also need a cert. on the tank and that may cost you a few $$
if you pay tell them you want a hydro test not an X-ray test ,cheeper and better
best thing to do is befriend the guy at the welding supply house
take him out wheeling and then let him "hook you up"

This is the regulator I use.

Everything else that you'd need can be had from a hardware store.
