i just keep the receipts of parts i buy for it except fluids and a couple other minor things like bolts and i just know that i change the oil every 3000.

i went through it and found the receipt for the hitch and bumper guard I bought for it 2 yrs ago and havent had on the KJ for almost a year

I use TealAuto to track all of my maintenance, fuel and mileage info. It runs on Palm OS, and I always have my Treo with me... It has some nice graphing tools for history info and you can export the data to a CSV file to import into a spreadsheet if you ever need it. Then I keep all of the receipts in a folder in our filing cabinet.

Iv been doing mine since late 2005, before that x wife had it & I didnt keep too good a track, but now I record date, milage, what I did, part numbers & cost. Looking now I'm due for oil change.

Did it for awhile... realized how much I was spending :shock:

. Now I just throw all the receipts in a box. Since the newest one lands on top, they'll all be in date order! :roll:

I am the same way since I do all my own maintenance. As for parts, everything I've purchased (to date) has been done online so I created a file folder on my MacBook Pro where I stash the receipts.

i just keep a standard naval issue notepad in the glove box. i record everything....maintenance and mods. Type/Description/Miles/Cost

I just use a simple excel worksheet to track everything. Nothin' fancy.

I just always kept a manila folder on each vehicle for maintenance and repair. I save every receipt and keep track of date, mileage, and what I did, brand of fluids and filters, etc and the cost.. I just use an 8 1/2x11 pad of paper. I do my own maintenance and repairs (mostly) so it is the only way I can keep track of it. So I guess I do it the old fashioned way.

I do not write down washes, or gas mileage. If I am going on a trip I will keep a gas cost, mileage, and expense log on paper while I am on the road. But only on a trip.
