RRO reminds me of another arrogant company that spends way too much money in advertising and bashing of the competition. Banks Performance!!! Most agree that they make some great products, but overpriced do to all the adverts and poor sportsmanship/customer service. I have dealt with them and when you get on the phone the sales pitch includes warnings about other's products. I mean come on!..............using scare tactics as a way of selling your products will only get you so far.

Regardless of the source... I'm glad to see some competition.

I do not see RRO as competition, most forums you mention their name and you can find a ton of negative things about them

If JBAs were twice what RRO is I would still buy from Marlin, let RRO sink into their own pit of pooooooo

I must say I am pretty surprised by all the hate for RRO. They are one of the few aftermarket suppliers for the Liberty and yet hardly anyone is cool with them expanding the Liberty aftermarket product line. Their customer service may suck, but from most I've seen, their products aren't all terrible, even if some aren't ideal or the best out there. Most of them work for people and have no issues with them. I'm happy there are more choices out there.

Have to agree with Inc, the only thing I ever bought from them were my rock sliders, and actually I never had a customer relation issue. they were here 4 days after I phoned them, maybe it becouse I told them I work for UPS and they have someone in the family that also works for the company :D . as far as the arms, I prefer Als. if you look close at the picture for RRO Arms the weld does not look quality.. Oh and by the way did anyone see the replacement roof rails? Again , not bad, but I favor RL, as soon as I can spring for them.

their products may not be terrible...but their customer service is. plain fact! If you get something from JBA that fubars you will get a full replacement or your money back. If you get something from RRO that doesn't fit or just plain sucks....well your stuck with a POS.

As INC said they may be a company out there that is making products for the KJ.....but why did it take them 2(?) years to come out with the a-arms after JBA? It took them too long to copy them! What else are they doing for the KJ? in the time it took RRO to put out an a-arm (witch they ripped) JBA has put out a 4", 6" lift for the KJ, a 4" lift for the KK as well as many other suspension/ component accessories. Who would you rather support? My answer is pretty fawkin clear.

So since RL is just now developing his SFA kit and his tortoise armor line, we should ignore them? Sometimes products aren't developed for vehicles immediately. Regardless of when it comes out it is nice to have more options. I have dealt with RRO personally when buying a locker, I didn't end up buying from them because they gave me a run around and the hassle wasn't at all worth it. Even so, more parts for the KJ community is a good thing. I don't plan on buying anything from RRO, but I'm not planning on buying anything from JBA or RL either, but that doesn't mean I could care less if they stop building products for the KJ. More options means the customers wins, even if it just means a price reduction in competition.

Nothing wrong with good HONEST competition, but the way they do and get business is what I do not like. I read some reports a while back on I8Mud where a guy stopped in and they asked to take a picture, next thing he knew his rig was on there site advertising that they had made everything on it , when he had made it himself!

They copy everything they can, they down other people who make KJ products, why is good that they are coming out with arms that look the same, of course they are cheaper since they did not have to do any R&D on the product.
All they have to do is copy and paste

Same thing could be said about any vendor. How many different ways are there to make A arms, or roof racks or rock rails? Eventually there will be similar ones. A good design is a good design even if 2 people come up with it and sell it. I am not at all interested in buying stuff from them, but it blows me away how the KJ community is always griping for aftermarket support and new products come out and people aren't at all happy even if it is a good thing for them in the end.

The reason for the RL skids is from the other vendors dropping there KJ lines.Oh and there's many, many ways to make skids, roof rails, and rock sliders.Just llok at the mount designs between the pre stuff and the Skinks/Boulderbars and you will see a big difference.

Obviously there are different ways to mount things, but the same overall design or look is the same or pretty close. How many different ways are you gonna mount A arms though? Some products are obviously not as high of quality or strength but the over all design is pretty close or relatively similar.

My point is only that creativity is kind of maxed out so saying a company is late to design something already out there or that their products are like others out there is widespread across the whole jeep scene. Of course some are stronger than others and better designed, I just don't know why most everyone has to bash RRO instead of seeing that the fact they are expanding the product line and will most likely cause prices to go down for products they are willing to buy already.

Sorry, but it's piss-poor business to call out your competition like that.

You don't do it. It is impossible to do, and remain credible.

For ThunderbirdJunkie, their credibility went out the window long ago, and with their net-wide reputation, JBA is not going to drop prices. In fact, if that DOES happen, We would lose a lot of respect for Marlin.

It's doubtful they'll make a scratch in his sales...

THAT BEING SAID...

$269 for the pair...still as cheap (to most people) as cheap aftermarket UCAs

Showing the "difference" in the balljoints...uh, really? One's polished up all purdy-like and the other isn't.

What ThunderbirdJunkie DOES like, and the entire reason He is looking to replace his UCA's, is the easily replaced bushings. Wonder how that'll do for them.

x2!

I wish I could have found some red shock boots for my front shocks, thought it would look good inside the black coils.

I am not sure of a single industry where one manufacturer does not "call out another". I does not always work (works for Apple though) because it establishes your competition as the benchmark and makes you look desperate. Anyone who has taken marketing in college is probably familiar with this classic example:

The other side of it is, the Granada was never direct competition for the Benz. Anybody that thinks otherwise is...well...ya know.

Companies have been comparing their cars to higher-priced models that are not even competition for decades. Magazines do it too...the most recent one that comes to Our mind is the Pontiac G8 vs the BMW 540.

Who will cross-shop a G8 and a 540? Nobody...but that's not the point. it just makes the cheap stuff look less cheap.

you know, I guess it is all at how you look at it. Lets set one thing straight, I don't condone the bashing of other products like they did.

If you look at the glass a s half full, at least they have made a attempt to make new products for the now defunct KJ. They are also in the process of making products for the KK. I think that this is great since the aftermarket for the KK sucks big ones. So far we have 2 full replacement lifts, 3 or so puck lifts, and I have a set of rock rails that I highly doubt will see public production with in the next 6 months. Now I know the KK is new and all, BUT IT SHOULDN'T TAKE THIS LONG TO MAKE STUFF. So far their is almost no aftermarket support from KJ supporters. I could go down the list of let down, but we will save that for another time.

now looking at it half empty... If you look at their track record, the product is probably crap and or the same as others. Now I know that many have tried their products and what not and many different opinions and views have come about, but in the end... to each his own....

I guess we won't know what they are all about in tell some one takes the plunge, which probably wont be long

My brother had one of those, Man I hated that car!!

As for calling out your competiton From the RRO site:

Some companies will camoflage the problem by combining a lifted Old Man Emu spring with an internal strut spacer (kind of a Frankenstein style lift), but the end result is still the same. The springs are still crushed by the internal spacers, the ride quality suffers, handling suffers since the springs cannot cycle as engineered, and the warranty of those OME springs is 100% null & void since they are NOT being used in the way they were engineered. That covers the absolute worst engineered lift systems on the market.

and
These kits do not ruin the ride comfort such as with internal strut spacer (Daystar) and Frankenstein style lifts, but they don't improve the vehicle stability, comfort, and handling like the Rockfather suspensions.

That's why I'd never buy from them.

If their product was so great, I would think they wouldn't have to 'trash talk' the competition like that.

And then to 'Trash talk' your potential customers really makes it where I wouldn't ever buy from them.

OR pay almost $400 for a set of new aftermarket control arms. Both options hold little appeal for most intelligent Jeepers.

and
Our customers for these are typically the well-educated Jeeper who has done their homework and knows they are buying the best kits for a better price than anywhere else.

So if you don't buy from them your an uneducated idiot, at least that's what I get from their write up on their own web site.
