Just a heads up, if they total it. You don't necessarily have to accept the value they offer you. When my nephew totaled his truck, the insurance wanted to give him a check. My brother argued with them that the replacement value was higher than what they were going to pay my nephew. He shopped around and found ads for similar trucks. Went back to the insurance company and got my nephew more money.

So if you feel they offer you too little, check around for what similar KJ's are going for in your area. Good luck.

well if i were you I'd pull all your mods off and give the "crap" back to the insurance company, or do like GeoJeeper said, make them pay you to add each additional mod to the new Jeep. My mom is an insurance agent, and when they "totaled" their Chevy Avalanche they wouldn't let her take the tire's or anything off the vehicle, she threatened them with small claims court and got an extra check for the new tires, headlight ect... they'd done to it.

They are not liable to pay for any mods done to a vehicle unless you have the mods added to your insurance policy.Right now I pay a extra $10 a month for the mods done on my KJ and from recent talks to my agent it looks like it will raise to about $15-$20 extra a month after the next few weeks.

Oh and that would be totaled by the pics, looks like A piller and C piller damage, can't tell if the B piller is damaged also.70%-75% of the vehicle value in damages and it's totaled depending on how old it is.If by some chance they don't total it and you want a body color change be prepared for the extra cost out of your pocket.

Man! I'm really glad you're okay! That is NASTY!

I will say one thing, if my Jeep had that much damage and someone offered to fix it for $5500, I'd turn and run. There is no way I would want to deal with someone that would "fix" that amount of damage for $5500.

I'm certainly not saying it can't be fixed...but not for $5500 (hee hee, TRIPPLE negative...wonder why that crazy English teacher failed me?).

This is just me but if they total it see if you can buy it back for cheap, remove the doors and do up some tube doors and and a little other work and turn it into a dedicated trail rig. You wouln't be afraid to scratch it. :D
This is assuming it runs and drives ok.

All I can say is WOW. Man I am glad your ok. Any time anyone gets in a wreck and walks away is a good wreck in MO. I feel for you I really do. The idea to buy it back and beat it is a great idea. I know some insurance companies will see it back and some are a huge pain to work with. Hope it works out the way you want it too. Wow. I am in shock.

Just wanted to say thanks to all you guys who have helped along the way i mean, when i first got my jeep i didnt know the difference between a franky lift and a rustys spacer  but you guys have helped alot and not gotten annoyed with all my questions and comments along the way so i am sincerly thankful for you guys and your concern. We talked to someone today who said 90% chance that it will be totalled and most likely i w ill come home from school tommorow and go to the Collision center and clear out all my stuff. :? i know it may be a jeep liberty that most people dont call a "real" jeep but i loved it and proved them wrong (cheesy i know i know). Hopefully i get another KJ but if not ill be saying adios to you fellas on here and just wanted to say its been fun. Thanks again. Drew (zzack92)

give me some carboard, old window screen and 2 gallons of putty and you'll never know it was wrecked

Glad you are OK,

would be cool to buy it and finish stripping it down and then just have fun!
