I made a distribution block, ran the rear, transfer, trans and front dif to it and then ran a single line to a self made breather, and attached it to the inside body between the battery and the fuse block. the main distribution block is attached to the unidody drivers side, centered by the transfer case. Sorry no pictures. :(

I was told that was a bad idea so didn't roll that.

Interesting! do you know the reason why. I actually got the idea from Toyotas. 5/16 hose all around. 2 years no issues.

Only thing I can think of is if you overfill / boil one it would overflow into the others.

I was thinking that all of these breather lines were relatively low pressure however the ones from the transmission & transfer case might have a bit of pressure behind them.

Seriously guys, aren't the stock positions high enough? Unless you have a snorkel and intend to do some deep water crossings I doubt that the water will reach the top of the stock breather locations. For those of you with snorkels you could always mount the top of the breathers within the snorkel.

On an unrelated matter, I once witnessed a YJ with a snorkel become submerged in a deep water hole. The snorkel did it's job alright, the Jeep ran for about two minutes before the water infiltrated the distributor and it stalled. Once we had it out of the water we discovered water had entered the engine and transmission through the dipstick or fill tubes. So unless you totally waterproof your entire engine raising the breathers higher isn't going to help much.

hmmm...I'm having problems posting too...

That was thought of . this is a simple drawing of the way mine was done. It was made from a 2" square alum tube. 4.5" long, all the tubes are on the top leaving room fro overflow and if that happens, just check the drain plug once in a while. but unless you over fill it there should be no problems.
