Florida meet and greet!! THIS SATURDAY!!!!!

Hah, cold sucks. Thats why I live in Florida.

We're thinking April 9th or 10th for the m&g

Anyone have any thoughts about that?

Giving ample amount of time to put in for time off for work for those of you who are like me and work on weekends.

Ok, we've decided a date.
April 10th-11th.
The 10th is the actual m&g and trail ride through Ocala NF.
A few of us will probably be camping there as well.

Theres some info on Ocala if you want to read up on it.
Let us know if you will be going so we can get a general head count for the m&g.

Also, ideas for some activites after riding are welcome. Maybe a cook out and some beer(for those of age), and soda for the rest.

I will be camping and mag03kj(off JKJC) is more than likely camping. I may have a friend or two with me, but thats if they're willing to camp. If not, then they're SOL! lol
What do the campsites offer? Grills, showers, etc?
Need to know what I should pack. If they don't have a grill then I'll bring my own!

Has anyone decided on a campground? We will need a pretty big RV site because we will be coming down in our motorhome and towing the KJ. We don't really need to stay in the same place if this is a problem. There are a number of places where we can set up in/near the forest.

Motorhome, schmotor home. Drive the KJ and pitch a tent!! :goink:

But I think the RV sites and tent sites are in the same area. I'm pretty sure Terry will know.
I don't really know exactly where the sites are, how much they cost, or anything like that. I will be looking more into campsites and reservations and such tomorrow when my weekend starts.

If no one comes with me I may just bring an air mattress and sleep in the jeep. Saves me the hassle of putting a tent up and taking it down then cleaning it out later.

I've done my time sleeping on the ground backpacking in North Carolina and the Florida Trail. :CAMPING:

Over the years I have graduated with my camping. Anyway... old bones and camping in tents just don't mix. :lol:

I'll keep check and see what is decided on as far as campgrounds.

I know of one camping place that I believe is free but the motorhome will never make it there. My camper will...it has a lift kit in it! :pepper:

There are commercial campgrounds around the area also.

I just counted 14 regular campgrounds in or next to Ocala NF. I'll check prices etc. next. jimymc, what size is your motorhome?

Most of them are $30 to $35 a night. But here is the best bet.

Salt Springs: (352) 625-2520

106 paved sites with full hookups
54 Tent sites
Restrooms & Showers
Last years rates were $12.50 to $20.00 a night.

I'm guessing the $12.50 is for the tent sites. We have driven past this place a couple of times when out in Ocala NF. Trails are real close by too.
