my tint guy swore the rears were 20's, so i went ahead and told him to put 20's on the front. I didn't think the rears looked quite as dark as 20's, and as it turned out I was right. The front ones came out darker than the back ones, but he was a douche and said if i wanted it matched then I should have asked for that instead of asking for 20%.

anywho, i was a little picky about it at first, but i dont even notice anymore. the only reason i didnt have him redo it is b/c i like the 20% more in the front, and I am thinking of doubling up on the rears down the line.

the reason i bring this up is b/c i've seen many different people say their factory windows are this % and that %, but if you are doing it yourself and you want it to match, you should have the tint guy match the tint to your rear windows before buying a random %.

I honestly dont know if all liberty's have the same rear tint % or not, and if they did, what % it would be. just thought i'd point it out.

The easiest (and really the only correct way) to know how dark your tint is, is to have it tested with a tint meter. If your state checks tint as part of your safety inspection (thank G-d VA does not) then any inspection station should be able to do it for you (the meter just slips over the window and reads how much light passes through) If your state doesn't check tint as part of the inspection (or your state doesn't have inspections) the your local PD should be able to do it for you. I had the latter done on my rear windows before I re-tinted them and the factory tint came out to 18%.

Also remember as pointed out earlier ALL WINDOWS block 2-3% of the sunlight so if you use say 20% tint, the meter will read 17-18%.

Mine are 20% in front. An exact match to the factory rears. I had a professional shop install the tint. Here you go:
