Thanks for the info on how lifts affect mileage, Diesel and Tom. The way you still get 21 MPG on the highway after all the mods is to regear to 4.10's, right Tom?

I don’t have my 4:10’s installed yet and I’m now running a 245/70/17 tire. I just came back from a 2,500 mile road trip and averaged 16-17 mpg. With 4:10’s, I would probably be closer to the 18 – 19 mpg range. Now, if I'm running 55-60 mph, I get closer to the 20-21 mpg range. Just for the record, I am using hand calculations and not reading the overhead. The overhead usually reads about 1-2 mpg over what I’m actually getting.

My tire and rim setup is very lightweight compared to others on the forum. I have the stock rims and a “P” rated tire, so on average, my wheel and tire combo is probably 20-30 lbs lighter on each wheel than let’s say Tom’s rig.
