Spray some silicone down the window tracks every other month or so.

You know, I still have all 4 original regulators after 5 years and 50k miles. I wonder when mine are going to start giving out.

i pretty much said the same thing a few weeks ago, and had some people in my jeep and one of the girls in the back seat said the window wouldn't roll down and i thought for sure i had messed with the Jeep juju by making the comment

but the window lock was on in the front

They start making a lot of noise before they break. If you put some grease on the guide track the noise goes away and your window will be okay. It seems the plastic riding in the track starts grabbing instead of gliding, and breaks.

Mine didn't make a sound. I just rolled up the window, heard a pop, and the window motor just started spinning freely.

I use at least my drivers and drivers passenger every time I drive (another reason to quit smoking!) and about every 10th roll up I hear a pop, cringe, and check them to see if they still work.

Are we just talking about using the silicone lubricant in the seals that are exposed when you roll the window down, or is there something inside the door that needs to be lubed?

About once a week I forget to roll up the backseat window on the passenger side and cringe again when I see it 3" down the next morning...

I may hold the record for not losing any...95,000+ miles, 5+ years since new and no failures! I smoked up until 2 years ago so my windows were constantly being used, to! :D - Sorry, I had to brag! *KNOCKING ON WOOD*

I lost my rear drivers at a little over 7000 miles. When I got my Jeep it had 28K miles on it and at 35001 or so it broke.. I went and bought me a new one the other day for $75.84 from the Dealership. I am working on putting it in but whenever I get started I just can't finish I always got other things to do. Now I have gone almost 25000 miles since I have fixed that window.. I had a solution to mine though a piece of 2x4 underneath the window so it won't fall down. It's been working great and people can't F with my back windows! :P

d/s front broke in my ex-04 renny bout 3yrs in, fixed under warranty. my 06, only 27k miles, just had both regs & glass replaced with "updated parts" on fronts, again under warranty, but only the d/s front was actually broken. i asked my dealership if they would replace both fronts & they said yes!!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT!!!! before my warranty is up i'll go back & have them do the backs too!
