there any olds v6/v8's that would bolt up? I've got like.. 20 varios olds engines chillin

i don't know whether to laugh or blush, but thats what we usually end up droppin in our antique/classic frameup rebuilds

I am not familiar with a V6 based off of an olds? The 231 was a buick, and was the basis for the 3800, et al. The last olds V8 was the 307, and I think it died in '87 or so unless they kept it around in the fleetwood before it went 350 chebby.

I've read several times that the 5.7 hemi is smaller/lighter than a 4.7. Seems if you were going to do a complete swap from a junker, this may be the way to go.

most of the olds engines i have are 260's (4.3 v8's) from mid 70's to early 80's

they're the same block as the SB 403's and 307's and all use the same 86mm stroke

thus they're a pretty easy build

there's a couple LG8's which is basically a 307 with a stock 455 cam which is actually a pretty easy engine to build off of a stock 307 or 260 for that matter depending on whether you know a machine shop owner or not

in our frame ups we typically build something similar to the LG8 with a healthy 2bbl or moderate 4bbl and a run of the mill turbo tranny

if it werent for all the electronics and space confinements one of those 307 builds would be pretty nasty in a KJ

when i put the v6 in there i was including the buicks and what not
