I don't even smell pop corn. Every one in tell this point has been very civil and hasn't bashed any one to bad. Now I'm sure we could rip some one a new one here ( I know I could) How ever, we all know some vendors have some issues whether or not some of us care. I can understand some delay in products due to some issues, But for others, they need to stop dwelling on past issues and get back at it.

So to end, If you want to bash them, first go buy a set and try to break them. I my self like the idea of competition.

I will acknowledge that Rocky Road has been known for their questionable marketing tactics and customer service, but that doesn't mean that these arms will be a lesser product than Al's.

Competiton is good. I hope these RRO arms can actually compete with Al's. They actually look pretty good.

I know you didn't pose the question to me but just so I understand right, are you asking if it is acceptable on LOST to bad mouth vendors? I would say no, do not bad mouth anyone on the site, but if you have factual info about vendors, then feel free to share it. Where is the link you mentioned anyway?

Ok I think its probably time to close this thread down, as I asked the question originally. There have been many comments and opinions expressed (interestingly both pro and con Rocky Road Outfitters as a company and the new A Arms). Thanks to everyone for their views. I am waiting for a shipping estimate from Glenn Wakefield (RRO) and that will play a large part in my decision. I know that RRO has followed this thread, because I had an email from him today.

Thanks again for your opinions and views.

I mean in my opinion I think as the KJ/Lost Jeeps Community we need to accept and welcome all vendors.. We may not like what some of their products has done or caused to our vehicles but as fair as fair can be I think we should say a big "THANK YOU" for making aftermarket parts for the KJ!!! and all other Jeeps!

I have been around a long time with this 4WD drive stuff and have never heard much positive about them ON ANY FORUM.

BUT

Buy where you want to though. I will never, but thats me.

Its one thing to make products for a Liberty its another just to do it for profit no matter what it takes to do it.

If they want to make products for the Liberty(s) let them come on here like others do and talk to us, see our wants and needs are and then go from there.

So, by your assumption...........99% of all offroad products or suspension vendors are worthless because they don't frequent this or other forums to get feedback????? Can't ever think of a time I ever saw ARB, Warn, Rancho, or many other suppliers on any forum. But that doesn't mean they don't make good products.

I don't want to get involved as RRO middleman just because I am in contact with them about a potential buy.

I am posting RRO's email to me on the KJ Forum as they gave me permission to do so, and importantly they offer an explanation as to why they do not participate in the forum.

"Kinda crazy the responses one gets. People like our lower price, people don't like our lower prices. People like product comparisons, people don't like product comparisons.

The only complaint we ever hear about from true customers is our supply on OME springs and shocks. We often are waiting for restock as they do sell very quickly. Some do correlate those supply delays as bad service on our part. Its a tough one when we get stuck waiting for outside supply :^(

As for the new control arms and the other parts we are currently developing for the Liberty... All we can do is just make the best parts, and sell them at prices we think are fair regardless of what the competition prices at.

PS. Feel free to post our email response above if you wish on the forum. We don't participate in chat forums even though we are Liberty enthusiasts as it seems in poor taste for a vendor to do so."

I have seen vendors get in arguments on other sites about their products because people get on and bash them, the vendors defend their products and practices and an argument ensues.

Dunno which forums you visit, But on my other 3 froums I frequent. Currie, TeraFlex, DynaPro, master-pull, MPRB, 4WD.com, Quadratec, OVE, Northridge, Poison Spyder, SLC, Full-traction, Ranch, Clayton, LOD, RC, JKS, PSC, Pure Jeep, High Rock 4x4, MORE< Or-Fab, ARB, Hanson, Solid, Ripp, etc... are all active participants. To the credit of the members and admin/mods of those forums. They don't trash talk, and use the forums to relay product info to the customers, and take care of any problems.

Myself and most others refuse to do business with RRO due to their trash talking on their own website, which is completely unacceptable to me. Plus the poor poor treatment of customers. There are members here who are still owed hundreds and in one case over a thousand dollars. I have personally have never heard of a problem being satisfied by RRO, but have heard of numerous examples of them telling their customers that i they have a problem it is the customers fault not theirs... Missing parts, oh well; broken in shipping, oh well; never received the product, oh well; received the wrong product, oh well. I personally don't care what they come out with, or how much they sell it for I won't buy it.
