Post subject:  Cleaning the Throttle

What is the best way to clean the throttle body assembly? I have 82K on my Rene and want to make sure I am getting the best fuel economy.

Thanks,

Well since air should be the only thing passing through the intake/throttle body it should not be to dirty, since each clinder has it own injector pointing at the intake valve. They do have "throttle body cleaner" spray(it's like carb cleaner) but do not know if it's safe to use on our plastic intakes,I've used it on my aluminum intake on my '96 Ford(before I sold it) and it worked good but again I don't know what that stuff will do to plastic(like our intakes).I would personnaly just pour some good injector cleaner in the gas tank(lucas is my favorite)and call it a day, some shops have that fancy injector cleanning service but don't think it's any better and they sometimes charge like a $100.00 for it.Just my 2 cents.
