Folks :

I just installed the MOPAR original alarm in my 2006 Renegade. It provides "siren" protection using the same remote included with the car keys, but also adds a 1 "horn" beep every time you close the car using the remote (or 2 horns for the open remote command)

I talked to a dealer technician on how to turn the sound off (it gets anoying quite regularly, specially when you have people near the car !!!) and he said to use the EVIC and indicate "sound off when open/close doors with remote" ... it doesn't work ... I guess that should work for regular Libertys without the MOPAR alam module ....

Any ideas / suggestions on how to turn the alarm "activation" sound off ?

Saludos

Arturo

Sorry, I don't remember what page, and yours would be different anyway since it's a different year. There is a way to do it with the key fob shown in the manual though.

The Evic is not the same as the factory installed, it's similiar to an aftermarket alarm and I don't think the honk functions on or off are controlled the same as the factory installed

Thx, but I already checked this one and it does not work in my case (is it the because the EVIC is factory-installed ? is it because my renny is assembled in Venezuela ?)

Since you said you just installed, I took that to mean it was added after the vehicle left the factory, sorry meant to say EVS which is the add on alarm not evic
